Responsibilities Under the general supervision and direction of the Manager, Radiology Clinical Services or designee, perform diversified clinical patient care, technical and related duties within assigned modality as part of an interdisciplinary care team. Assume responsibility for each assigned patient, perform patient assessments, and correlate clinical findings with exam/procedure request. Obtain pertinent information from patient s chart and document all data within the EHR. Educate patient for exam. Position patient and select appropriate imaging equipment and supplies. Identify, prepare and/or administer pharmaceuticals related to the exam/procedure. Select technical factors/ parameters/sequences to produce quality images. Properly identify anatomy and evaluate images for technical quality. Apply the principles of MR safety to minimize risk to patient, self and others and aware of the principles of ALARA. Assist physicians in performing procedures. Qualifications Registration with the ARRT, ARMRIT or CAMRT and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Working under the direction of the MRI Manager, MRI Supervisor, and MRI Clinical Director, the MRI technologist is responsible for performing all technical procedures within MRI as described in the DFCI Imaging Policy Manual. The MRI technologist duties include the responsibility of the delivery of safe and effective imaging procedures, participation in departmental education programs, participation in organizational and departmental goals and priorities and active involvement in Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement (QA/QI) activities. Each MRI technologist position requires a close working relationship with Imaging professional, nursing, and technical staff, as well as with providers, investigators, and their staff.
