Position Summary

Key Responsibilities
Prepare and position patients for MRI procedures

Operate 1.5T and 3T MRI systems following established protocols

Qualifications
Education & Experience:
Graduate of an AMA-approved radiologic technology program
Minimum 2 years of imaging experience, with at least 1 year in MRI preferred
Experience with both 1.5T and 3T MRI systems is a plus
Licensure & Certifications:
Florida-licensed Radiologic Technologist
ARRT certification in Radiography (RT(R)) or Nuclear Medicine (RT(N))
ARRT (MR) certification preferred or must be obtained within 12 months of hire
BLS certification required

This is a part-time position, working about 32 hours per week, various hours Monday-Saturday.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(90%) Patient PET/CT Imaging
Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure
Explains and prepares patients for PET/CT imaging procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately
Performs routine and advanced PET/CT imaging procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeats scanned, while providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure
Adjusts PET/CT scan parameters correctly and as needed, utilizing dose reduction techniques as appropriate
Maintains positive attitude and working relationships with radiologist, referring customers and other associates and peers
Follows physicians' orders precisely and conforms to safety regulations to protect yourself, your patients, and coworkers
Accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)

As a PRN MRI Technologist, you are required to produce cross-sectional images for medical interpretation through radiofrequencies within a magnetic field for diagnostic purposes. The technologists independently perform or assist a licensed practitioner in the completion of magnetic resonance imaging procedures. Technologists prepare, administer and document activities related to contrast administration in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations, or lawful institutional policy.
