Medical Assistant Duties: Perform vital sign checks and diagnostic testing (e.g., Pulmonary Function Tests, EKGs, ABIs, Audiograms, Smell tests, Vision screening). Screen for contraindications and ensure the accuracy of test results. Assist providers by identifying when additional medical attention is required. Lab Testing & Phlebotomy: Collect and label blood and urine samples, ensuring patient safety and proper identification. Use proper techniques for sample storage, transport, and processing, including centrifuging blood samples. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the phlebotomy station, adhering to infection control protocols. Administrative Duties: Schedule appointments and process test results with a focus on privacy and HIPPA compliance. Assist with ordering supplies, clinic housekeeping, and managing DaySmart entries. Aid in chart preparation and chart review for providers. Assist in training new staff as needed. Clinic Upkeep: General housekeeping tasks and maintaining cleanliness throughout the clinic.
