Summary:
CVOR surgical technologists facilitates the safe and effective execution of cardiovascular surgical procedures under the supervision of the surgeon. They are responsible for preparing the operating room, maintaining sterile environments, ensuring equipment functionality, and anticipating the needs of the surgical team to maximize patient safety and procedural efficiency.
Essential Work Functions:
Set up the operating room prior to surgical procedures
Stock surgical supplies and inspect surgical machines and equipment to ensure proper functionality prior to procedures
Assist in transporting patients to and from surgery as required
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and the surgical team to deliver coordinated care
Anticipate the surgeon's needs, efficiently passing instruments to maintain procedural flow
Handle specimens with precision and care to maintain diagnostic integrity and follow institutional protocols
Collaborate with other health team members to ensure seamless surgical workflow
Maintain sterility by cleaning and sterilizing instruments and equipment in compliance with infection control standards
Utilize data from surgical preference cards for the surgical procedure and surgeon
Maintain proficiency in cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgical procedures, including open and closed heart surgeries
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
Required Essential Skills:
Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
Physical Abilities - Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend
Interpersonal Skills - Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism
Technical/Motor Skills - Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
Mental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel. Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail
Sensory - Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate

Accurately obtains, documents, and reports variances for: history, vital signs, EKG's, and growth parameters for developmental stage.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs radiologic procedures and examinations under the direction of radiologists or delegating practitioner to produce radiographic studies which are used in medical diagnosis.
Receives and interprets requests and/or instructions for radiologic procedures; gains the cooperation of patients; operates radiographic equipment; and records results of diagnostic imaging.
Takes appropriate action to protect patient, self and others from secondary radiation.
Maintains and applies knowledge of radiation protection standards; knowledge of the function of the major divisions of the skeletal system and major organs; and knowledge of the physical concept of energy and the property of X-rays and electric circuits to perform diagnostic procedures and to assist as a member of a medical team in radiologic examinations.
Provides services using imaging modalities including but not limited to conventional x-ray (CR, DR).
Evaluates radiographs for technical quality.
Exercises professional judgment in the performance of procedures.
Provides patient care essential to radiographic procedures.
Recognizes patient conditions requiring immediate action and reports to provider/radiologist.
Assists with clinical processes to support nursing/medical care for the provision of safe, accurate and timely patient care.
Performs other duties as assigned.
LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
Current licensure as aRadiologic Technologist by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) required.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
2-3 years pediatric or general x-ray experience preferred.
Knowledge of diagnostic radiology principles and procedures as well as operation and maintenance of radiologic equipment.
Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate effectively with patients/families, staff and physicians.
Analytical skills necessary to determine best method of providing requested radiographs based on the individual case and basic technical principles, ensuring clear undistorted radiographs at the lowest radiation exposure/dosage.
Ability to work as a clinically integrated team member to support and assist with the provision of identified clinical and laboratory services to maintain patient flow and satisfaction.
CPR Training required and/or must be obtained and maintained within 45 days of hire.
Must provide record of a completed diploma (or equivalent) or academic transcript for those areas performing laboratory or point of care testing.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Radiology/Imaging areas work environment with rare exposure to physical discomforts due to unpleasant odors from specimens and chemicals. Occasional exposure to infectious agents when handling specimens or hazardous materials but potential for personal harm or injury is reduced when proper safety and health precautions are followed. Regular exposure to radiation. Minimum chance of injury once established safety procedures are followed. Ability to stand for long periods of time wearing a lead apron. Ability to lift or turn disabled patients. Although radiation hazards exist in this occupation, they are minimized by the use of lead aprons, gloves, and other shielding devices, and by instruments monitoring exposure to radiation. Radiation exposure badges must be worn to measure radiation levels in the radiation area.

Minimum 2 years of MRI experience within the last 3 years. Experience must be as a registered MRITechnologist.

and settings used. Performs routine examinations of chest, joints, extremities, cholangiography,
barium enemas, upper GIs IVPs and other complex examinations, under the technical or
professional direction of a Radiologist when required during tour assigned. Checks equipment
for working conditions prior to contacting the physician or patient for exam. Notifies the
physician and/or technical supervisor of any equipment problems. Sets up x-ray room, assuring
that sterile supplies, contrast materials, catheters and other requirement equipment are present
and laid out. Assures infection control standards are followed. Greets patients arriving in the
department and assists in verifying appointments, and/or answering the phone and providing general information as needed or requested. Calls scheduled inpatients for examinations when
appropriate equipment is available.
8 Provides portable x-rays thru-out the medical centers, notifying nearby staff/visitors of
the need to protect them from possible scattering radiation. Records the nature of, and
circumstances surrounding unusual events occurring in the Diagnostic Imaging Service during
the assigned tour and notifies the Radiologist on-call or the supervisory technologist. Assures
the cleanliness of the exam room and re-stocks supply cabinet at the end of the tour. Assures
the safety of patient while in his/her care and adheres to appropriate safe patient handling and
movement. Maintains courteous customer service skills towards patients, visitors and staff.
Notifies supervisory technologist of absence of coverage and if leaving the Department or work
area. Remains on duty until relief of next tour arrives. Reports for duty on time or calls to report
absence/tardiness no later than one hour before the beginning of the tour scheduled.
9 Technologists shall follow appropriate Radiology/Diagnostic Imaging Service (DIS)
policies for after hour requests across each modality: CT, MRI, Ultra-Sound, and Diagnostic.
Any concerns or questions after-hours when there is no radiologist on duty shall be referred. If
a local teaching university is available (University of Washington or Oregon Health Science
University), then any concerns or questions after-hours when there is no radiologist on duty
shall be referred to the teaching universities Resident or On- Call Radiologist or Chief
Technologist; this is a location specific determination. The contract technologist shall leave a
written documentation for the Chief Technologist detailing the situation. When scheduled,
serves as a member of an on-call team providing after hour services in response to
emergencies. Responsibilities are based on the VA/Radiology Mission across all modalities as
related to the care and services that is provided for the Veterans. Responsibilities across all

Your Day-to-Day: As a Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician I, you'll:
Respond to service requests for minor repairs to a wide variety of in-store equipment (HVAC, Refrigeration, beverage & food equipment, ice makers, & fuel dispensers)
Also handles orders related to plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance issues
Manage parts inventory and complete daily reports to ensure efficiency
Variety of additional duties including training other level I technicians, prioritizing work, basic maintenance on structures, etc.
What You Bring to the Table:
Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred
Experience: 1+ years in general repairs and maintenance
Valid Driver's License
Skills: Show leadership, peer-to-peer tech support, effective communication, handle stretch assignments, facility location ownership, and time management

Tidewater Physicians Multispecialty Group is actively seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to work out of our Ophthalmic office in Newport News. Tidewater Physicians Multispecialty Group (TPMG) is comprised of over 200 physicians and advanced practice clinicians and is the largest physician-owned groups in Tidewater. The schedule is full-time work hours, Monday through Friday.
Ophthalmic Technician is responsible for prepping the patient for the provider to conduct the eye examines.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for screening patients (i.e. get medical history, update medications and allergies, check vision and dilate the pupils.
Determine if further auxiliary testing is needed.
Schedule surgery for patients and prepping paperwork required.
Maintain a list of supplies needed for the office to ensure office is fully stocked.
Responsible for charge entry.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of coding with modifiers.
Knowledge of hospitals requirements for surgeries.
Knowledge of eye medications.
Skill in communicating clearly with diverse publics.
Ability to work scheduled hours as defined in the job offer.
