Under the supervision of the Radiology Manager, the MRI Technologist is responsible for providing MRI examinations for diagnosis and treatment of patients in a professional, caring, and efficient manner; provide MRI data for diagnosis and treatment of patients. Essential Functions: Performs magnetic resonance imaging studies. Confers with the Radiologists to establish protocols of non-standard examinations and determines technical factors to complete the exam. Receives patients, explain method of examination, and positions patient, performs IV puncture and administers IV contrast agent as indicated. Independently performs and completes routine examination. Evaluates the nature of critical and urgent procedures and arranges patient priorities to accommodate the Stat orders. Maintains records of patients imaged and type of examinations performed including protocols used. Monitors the use of supplies and orders supplies as needed. Keeps abreast of new developments in the field and implements those which would improve the operation of the service.
