* Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks.

Title SW KC Mkt MRI Technologist Days - Full Time Olathe Hospital / Career Interest: Deliver Magnetic Resonance imaging services to all patients by providing modern medicine and compassionate care. This includes inpatient, outpatient and emergent diagnostic procedures. The technologist must work independently or with a team of other professionals that include other technologists, nurses and radiologists to deliver outstanding diagnostic imaging service.
Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
* Demonstrates knowledge and application of all MRI exams on inpatients, outpatients, and ECC as described in department policy and procedure manual. Accurately and efficiently performs all scans requested. Has the department ready for use for next shift. Performs technical and clerical duties inclusive of cardiac and vascular MRI scans, add-on patients, and Q.C./Q.I. functions for equipment and appropriate patient care.
* Responsible for the technical quality of scans, including but not limited to image quality, proper signal/noise ratio, filters, and window/level.

Responsibilities
You will competently perform MRI imaging procedures in accordance with accepted standards of practice, including administering contrast agents (under the guidance and approval of the site Radiologist)

You must maintain excellent patient care, comfort, safety and confidentiality, in addition to maintaining your technical competency through continuing education
Qualifications:

You will need to produce quality special imaging with limited supervision, and you must be able to interact in a responsible, professional and ethical manner

Job Description
I. JOB SUMMARY
The responsibility of the MRI technologist include empathetic and instructional approach to patient care, the preparation, operation of imaging, collection data using computers, necessary imaging devices and care of instrumentation, patient physical safety and MRI safety. The MRI technologist performs a variety of exams without and with contract enhancement at the direction of the Radiologist and MRI protocols. The technologist must adhere to State Licensure scope of practice and medical staff approved protocols.
II. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
a. Supports the mission of Lawrence Memorial Hospital
b. Explains procedures to patient/family accurately and to customer satisfaction.
c. Maintains all equipment appropriately
d. Utilizes appropriate equipment and supplies to perform exams or aide in performance of diagnostic procedures that comply with the states scope of practice.
e. Communicates professionally and effectively with all customers.
f. Assists the Radiologist as needed for completion of procedures.
g. Adheres to standard of care outline for customers in policy and procedures as the Medical Director of Imaging Services.
h. Maintains certifications, licensure and job related/accreditation competencies and requirements.
i. Performs patient examinations proficiently, efficiently and safely.
j. Maintains confidentiality of all customers.
k. Completes ordered exams and assembles data in folder to be read by the Radiologist/Physician. Generates exam charges in Radiology computer system.
l. Utilizes resources to provide the best standard of care for patients in Imaging Services.
m. Acts as patient's advocate prior, during and following exams.
n. Maintains accurate patient records and documents pertinent data and patient information completely.
o. Reviews patient history and obtains appropriate order.
p. Evaluate images and adjust imaging parameters appropriately.
q. Competent with the use of sterile techniques.
r. The ability to work independently and produce high quality images with minimal supervision.
s. Review and assist with completion of the MRI safety questionnaire.
t. Administer various gadolinium based contrast agents.
u. Competent in IV starts.
v. Performs care according to the population served on the unit as referenced in the Administrative, Scope of Services Policy.
w. Performs other duties as needed or assigned.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
* The lead MRI tech should have a good understanding of MRI, the physics, and a good understanding of how changes in protocols impact the study and the patient physical condition. Responsible for assisting new staff with competencies and must have the technical skill to assure proper training.
* Understands how the scanner functions and recognizes problems is expected. Shares knowledge with all staff to better understand the system and assure it is functioning to specification.
* Understands the importance of providing quality and timely customer service for any ordering physician.
* Assists Radiologists and other medical staff performing patient care procedures such as patient lifting, I.V. insertion, drawing blood, or others, as assigned. Regularly communicates to all Radiologists and Department Manager/Director.
* Monitors full time staffing needs for Hospital and Pavilion, updates schedule on F-drive and delivers schedule to staff members (posting, hand delivery, email)
* Monitors hours worked and assure the department is staffed to expected procedure volume.
* Available for staff to communicate/call .
* Provides patients with accurate procedure detail. Communicates with the patients and gives the customer their business card upon departure. Utilizes the five points of communication: Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, and Thank You.
* Implements the Language of Caring lessons into their customer service skills.
* Assures that the MRI team are meeting these goals by listening to their deliveries and coaching as necessary to improve communication skills.
* Understands all computer/software applications that are required to perform day, evening, and night work flow tasks. Utilizes IT help desk when appropriate. The MRI lead tech will need basic skills in Excel and Word to assist in scheduling and data tracking.
* Available to assist in other departments when needed or assigned. Individual capitalizes on all licenses, certifications, and qualifications that they obtain.
* Recognizes others department needs and is always willing to assist if necessary. Reaches out to other leads for advice and builds excellent working relationships. The lead should maintain their basic radiology skills and be able to assist in occasional radiology procedures.
* Complete working knowledge of workstation and post processing functionality for all applications. Oversees all MR Technologists postprocessing skills. Enforces monthly QA process to promote continued expansion of knowledge for all MRI Technologists.
* Understands Lawson Requisitions and utilizes Outlook calendar for reminders of expired/expiring supplies.
* Monitors usage and replacement of supplies, maintaining a level of inventory conducive to workflow.
* Understands the supplies budget and works within that framework, by monitoring staff usage and oversees excessive waste or overstock.
* Meets with vendors to keep a constant pressure on supply quality and price.
* Understands the evolution of business, technologies, and processes. Shows initiative to accept challenges with a positive attitude. Comprehends that changes occur that require flexibility.
* Continues to monitor, maintain, consistent patient flow, Communicates to patients, staff, physicians, nurses (delays, technical issues, scan parameters).
* Understands both Hospital and Pavilion workflow, knows evening and nights workflow and transition.
* Keeps a presence at both the Pavilion and the Hospital, monitors worklists, and makes phone calls to communicate to staff about any issues or to check in.
* Verifies orders in the patient chart/EMR. Reviews Radnet contrast safety questionnaire with patient. Follows Department Policy for contrast use. Ensures consent form is signed for appropriate designated exams.
* Follows the MRI safety policy. Diligent about safety as it pertains to anyone entering the MRI scan room. Absolutely restricts items attracted by magnets from entering the MRI scan room including personal items and non-compatible medical devices.
* Technologists and Radiologists will work together to assure appropriate age specific protocols."
* Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience

* CPR/ AED/ BLS - Other BLS within 14 days

* Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) if not ARRT (R)

Position Summary
Under the supervision of the IT Manager, this Technical Services Staff position supports general maintenance and support of the technology infrastructure. Engaging in troubleshooting for end users while providing exceptional customer service. They provide additional support during events to ensure that technology runs smoothly and responds to any requests from management. To proactively survey the venue's technology and enterprise systems to ensure stability and functionality.
This role pays an hourly rate of $16.00-$22.00.

About the Venue
The Gateway District will transform the north entrance to campus in a profound way to drive student enrollment and economic benefit to Kansas. The project will develop a new campus gateway, multi-use space and upgraded football facilities, all of which will enhance KU's ability to recruit and retain students.
The most innovative component of this project is the development of multi-use facilities to be used throughout the year to generate revenue for academic programming and student success. In addition to the conference center, and as suggested by the project consultant, the project will potentially include a mix of arts and entertainment, dining, retail, office space, lodging and other uses that support economic development and the university's academic mission.
Responsibilities
* Event support of critical systems for production units, team operations, and broadcast technologies.
* Execution of IT projects at the direction of the IT Manager.
* Ability to undertake & complete multiple tasks with little direction or supervision.

* Excellent knowledge of computer hardware (PC and Mac) and peripherals.
* Basic knowledge of configuring and troubleshooting iOS and Android based mobile devices.
