Summary:
The Electrophysiology (EP) Lab Tech is responsible for assisting in electrophysiology studies, cardiac ablations, pacemaker and defibrillator implantations, and other specialized procedures within the EP lab. This role involves preparing patients for procedures, operating and troubleshooting EP lab equipment, monitoring patient responses, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment. The EP Lab Tech plays a crucial role in supporting cardiac mapping, ablations, pacemaker and defibrillator implantations, and other specialized cardiac interventions.
Essential Work Functions:
Perform comprehensive nursing assessments for EP lab patients and document findings accurately
Educate patients and families on electrophysiology procedures, pre-procedure expectations, and post-procedure care to ensure understanding and informed consent
Assist physicians with electrophysiology studies, ablations, and device implantations
Administer medications, including conscious sedation, per physician orders
Monitor cardiac rhythms, hemodynamics, and patient responses throughout procedures
Identify and respond to changes in patient condition, escalating care as needed
Maintain sterile technique and assist with equipment preparation, setup, and troubleshooting to support seamless procedural workflow
Collaborate with the care team to develop and implement patient-centered treatment plans
Provide immediate post-procedure care, monitoring complications and ensuring stable recovery
Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
Required Essential Skills:

The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills

Technical/Motor Skills - Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
Mental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel. Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail

Primary function:
The primary function is performance of all phases of CT Scan Testing. Work is performed on hospital in-patients and outpatients in accordance with established procedures and protocols of the department and under the direction of the Radiologist.
Perform other diagnostic imaging exams as skills permit
Perform clerical and scheduling duties as needed
Principal duties and responsibilities:
Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of CT Scanner Units.
Completes all technical assigned imaging and non-imaging procedures in the designated scheduled times.
Verifies insurance pre-authorization as defined by departmental protocols prior to scanning patient.
Assists in the learning process of students and new staff in department procedures, quality control, and radiation safety.
Administers all contrast media under physician's supervision.
Ability to assess patient for adverse reactions and/or changes in patient status.
Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of contrast media injectors.
Demonstrates knowledge and ability to perform i-STAT testing and accurate calculation of GFR following established departmental policies and procedures.
Demonstrates skills and knowledge necessary to provide care appropriate to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including knowledge of growth and development.
Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices.

Responding to office codes, policies and procedures to ensure optimum patient, employee, visitor and physical plant safety and security;

This Per Diem position will provide coverage in the AMI @ Inspira office locations. Scheduling is based on employee availability and department needs.
Qualifications
Candidates for this position must be a graduate of AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology, registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT), and are MR Board Certified. Current and valid American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required prior to start of employment. Must have training and certification in venipuncture for the injection of contrast media via butterfly needle and IV catheter. If not currently certified, must be willing to obtain. In-house training will be provided.

You Will:
Perform high quality MRI exams on incoming patients.

Minimum of six (6) months experience required.
