The Radiology Tech II, working under the supervision of the Radiology Director and the Staff Radiologist, performs radiological imaging examinations of patients using both stationary and mobile radiographic equipment. Develops exposed X-ray film, ensures proper film identification on all images, and creates x-ray CD copies. Files films, maintains medical records, and performs other related administrative duties. The Technologist III is distinguished by their certification in one or more additional imaging modalities (e.g., CT, MRI, Mammography). Requires an associate degree in a related area, state licensure, and ARRT certification.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Obtains and documents relevant medical history prior to performing examinations.
Maintains certifications and demonstrates proficiency in one additional ARRT-recognized modalities.
Prepares and positions patients for diagnostic procedures, ensuring safety, comfort, and optimal imaging outcomes.
Performs diagnostic imaging procedures as ordered by the physician, following established protocols and standards of care.
Assists the radiologist with special procedures and fluoroscopic exams, ensuring appropriate setup and patient preparation.
Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of all radiology rooms and equipment according to infection control standards.
Ensures weekly assigned imaging rooms are fully stocked with necessary supplies and equipment.
