Registry eligible technologist must receive registration within six months of hire date BLS required within six months of hire date * Must be able to operate and perform basic computer programs associated with record keeping in the department * Must demonstrate excellent human relation skills to deal with patients, physicians and other in sometimes difficult or sensitive situation, including verbal and written communication, problem solving and assertiveness * Must have a customer service orientation * Must demonstrate leadership and organization skills including the ability to work independently and take initiative within established procedures * Must demonstrate a positive attitude Work which produces high levels of mental/visual fatigue, e.g., interactive and repetitive or small detailed work requiring alertness and concentration for sustained periods of time, the operation of and full attention to a personal computer or CRT between 40 and 70 percent of the time. Involves considerable standing or walking, regular lifting of light-weight objects (i.e., 20 pounds or less) and assisting with heavier tasks such as assisting in lifting and moving patients. Minor straining or fatiguing positions must be assumed, and some fatiguing physical motions are required. * Receives or escorts patients into examination area; reviews pertinent patient information; instructs patient concerning the examination to be performed. * Provides MRI services according to policy and procedure and considering the age and special characteristics of the patient. This includes all body parts. * Provides service in a timely manner and completes the work on a timely basis. * Cleans, maintains and monitors equipment appropriately. Troubleshoots equipment according to manufacturers recommendations. * Reports equipment problems to supervisor. Calls manufacturers service department in the absence of supervisor. * Performs first aid as required and assists in cases of adverse reaction to contrast media or in other emergencies. * Observes and practices sterile technique and prevents cross-contamination of contagious diseases. * Provides quality MRI procedures for radiologist interpretation. * Keeps supervisor informed of all unusual matters. Seeks supervisors advice and counsel and develops a spirit of cooperation in carrying out the work. * Maintains appropriate supply level in their areas of responsibility. * Demonstrates or oversees the on the job training for student technologists and other non-professional assistants as assigned. * Demonstrates or oversees the on the job training for MRI Technologists that have been newly hired or need additional training needs for new procedures. * Demonstrates excellent customer service when answering the phone. * Practices safety specific for MRI. Essential Functions: Performs magnetic resonance imaging studies. Confers with the Radiologists to establish protocols of non-standard examinations and determines technical factors to complete the exam. Receives patients, explain method of examination, and positions patient, performs IV puncture and administers IV contrast agent as indicated. Independently performs and completes routine examination. Evaluates the nature of critical and urgent procedures and arranges patient priorities to accommodate the Stat orders. Maintains records of patients imaged and type of examinations performed including protocols used. Monitors the use of supplies and orders supplies as needed. Keeps abreast of new developments in the field and implements those which would improve the operation of the service. Performs or monitors safety checks on patients, employees and visitors to comply with the safety standards regarding ferrous objects and cardiac pacemakers prior to those persons entering the environment of the magnetic field. Monitors the examinations by checking computations, performances, and results of the selected parameters to obtain the best diagnostic computer generated data and images. Sends images to the PACS. Ensures equipment is operated within manufactures guidelines. Assist with obtaining acceptable images, uploading and charts needed information for ACR renewal. Prints orders and previous reports to prepare for the next imaging day. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge: Professional knowledge of diagnostic technologist principles, practices, concepts, and anatomy of three-dimensional relationships sufficient to perform a full range of duties connected to MRI. Our team includes over 175 radiologists, a growing team of 30 advanced practice providers, and more than 175 employees providing administrative support in our wholly owned subsidiary STARS. What we do: We provide services to 5 health care systems and more than 60 different sites across the state of Michigan. ARS is the exclusive radiology provider to West Michigan's largest Level I trauma center and research hospital, Corewell Health. Corewell provides care to a diverse patient population across a 13-county area. What we are looking for: We are currently seeking a full time, partnership track Interventional/Diagnostic Radiologist to join our team of 9 IR physicians in Grand Rapids. This position will include approximately 50% IR work and 50% DR work. The IR sites will be primarily Corewell Butterworth and Blodgett with occasional shared off-site regional shifts. Our IR team also services a dedicated pediatric hospital, an interventional radiology outpatient clinic and a separate outpatient cancer center. The DR work can be aligned with interest/skill set which could include ER, body or something else. The amount of IR work may increase as staffing evolves. The board recently approved a significant schedule/compensation improvement for IR shareholders effective 1/1/26. Once you become a shareholder (one or two year track depending on experience level), you will enjoy a base compensation model for 130 weekday shifts/ year in comparison to the 211 required shifts/year in our standard schedule. You will earn additional compensation for your weekend (11) and call shifts (2-3 per month). This calculates to ~ 115K on top of the existing base salary and incentive programs. Furthermore, there are opportunities to work additional shifts at per diem rates as desired. Responsibilities: Interventional radiology position with 50% diagnostic radiology responsibilities The IR practice covers a wide spectrum of inpatient and outpatient interventional procedures, including interventional oncology, vertebral augmentation, TIPS, ablations, trauma embolization, GIB embolization, venous intervention, central venous access including implanted ports, peripheral vascular disease, biopsies, pain management procedures, diagnosis/treatment of vascular malformations, etc. Call schedule is less than most practices and includes body interventional. There is no expectation of neurointerventional such as stroke. Diagnostic work can include ER shifts, general or body as desired Why is our IR practice unique? ARS is a 100% physician owned and managed practice and fully committed to remaining independent. We have an outstanding team of Advanced Practice Providers rounding and performing minor procedures at our hospitals throughout the state. We have quarterly peer review meetings to support physicians and promote continued learning. We also have an interventional radiology residency program in Grand Rapids which will allow our physicians the opportunity for teaching and research if desired.
