The successful individual will be responsible for sourcing equipment, goods and services and managing vendors. This position reports to the Operations Support Manager, Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Verifies nomenclature and specifications of purchase requests * Searches inventory records and reports to determine if material on hand is in sufficient quantity * Contacts suppliers to obtain prices and specifications * Verifies specifications for products to be ordered * Meets with suppliers and customers * Must be able to perform strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of spend, search for better deals, and find more profitable suppliers * Creates purchase orders * Confers with suppliers concerning late deliveries * Compares prices, specifications, and delivery dates and awards contract to bidders or places orders with suppliers Verifies bills from suppliers with bids and purchase orders and approves bills for payment Requirements Qualifications: * Ability to professionally and effectively communicate with suppliers and customers via phone, email, and in person * Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization * Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, & percentages.
