Scott Davis is the Chief Legal Officer for ms consultants. He is a LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) Accredited Professional. He is responsible for all legal and regulatory matters for the company and advises the CEO on legal issues associated with key initiatives. Scott started his career as an engineer at Messer Construction after graduating from the University of Cincinnati. He then pursued a law degree at The Ohio State University. His most recent position was a partner in the construction group at the Bricker and Eckler law firm. While there he negotiated contracts for design-build, construction management-at-risk and design-bid-build delivery models using all major contract platforms including AIA, DBIA, EJCDC and ConsensusDOCS. Scott provided advice on compliance with federal, state and local procurement laws and risk management issues including insurance (CGL, professional liability, builder’s risk, wrap-ups) and bonding. In addition, he represented construction owners, construction managers, contractors and subcontractors in dispute resolution, including mediations, arbitrations and litigation. Scott also spent half a year in the United States Peace Corps as a Health & Water Sanitation volunteer. Traveling to Mauritania, West Africa, he assessed community health needs and advised local communities on safe health practices. He also organized a mud brick stove construction program as part of community wood conservation efforts.
