Reporting Structure:

Performance Agreement:
The Wayne Township Adult Education (WTAE) ELL Classroom Para will perform all aspects of the communicated job description. This employee will effectively meet performance expectations of the MSD of Wayne Township. Formal performance evaluation will be conducted annually.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Helping create a welcoming environment: Para is responsible for helping students feel welcome, staffing the desk, taking attendance, and greeting students.
With direct supervision from a teacher, provides assistance in implementing plans and programs related to the academic or functional skill attainment for students with language barriers, mental, physical, and/or emotional learning challenges.
Paraprofessional communicates and collaborates on a daily basis with assigned teacher. Examples include: Planning student activities, lessons, and/or discussing high needs or areas for improvement.
Provides academic and physical assistance to students with disabilities if applicable and as directed, in one to-one or in small group settings.

Facilitates teacher instruction, and learning by providing one-on-one student assistance or guidance to better comprehend lesson material/activity etc.
Assists teacher in implementing the lesson plan as need be, prepares student work/copies and/or assignments as deemed necessary by teacher.

Assists students with the use of media equipment, augmentative communication devices, and computer log in techniques and distance learning accounts for in class use and distance learning.

Primary Purpose of Position
To serve in the capacity of the Core Multimedia and Cable Specialist and perform the appropriate essential functions and responsibilities.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Install, manage, and repair the district's audio-visual systems, telephones, intercoms, and networking needs related to these systems and equipment.
Audio-visual systems include (but are not limited to) classroom projectors, smartboards, Smart TVs, Newline boards, Lightspeed microphone systems, microphone systems support for students with hearing impairments, speaker systems, and document cameras.
Design systems for new rooms when building or remodeling schools to determine where network cables should be run and coordinate these plans with the site managers.
Manage and track the inventory control and asset management of the district's telephones, wiring, and audio-visual equipment.
Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols for audio-visual and telephone equipment.
Provide reports and analytics of A/V and telephone systems as requested.
Work closely with the field teams, and other stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve issues including operational processes.
Support and handle technical escalations, and implement user-appropriate configurations.
Responsible for timely resolution of assigned tasks and change order tickets within established Service Level Agreements (SLA), using our helpdesk system to create and work incidents and change records.
Ensure that the Systems Support Technician Leads and their Technicians are skilled and cross-trained to enable them to service our educational environment.
Demonstrate a working knowledge of projectors, smartboards, smart TVs, sound systems, speakers, document cameras, large phone systems, and school intercom systems.
Demonstrate a working knowledge of network wiring, cables, and port configuration on switches
Participates in periodic in-service programs provided by the IT Services.
Must have a valid driver's license and be able to drive a van.
Performs other duties as directed by the Chief Technology Officer and Manager of IT Core Services.
Knowledge and Skills

Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Associate degree in a computer-related field or equivalent is preferred but not required.

Strong technical expertise in audio-visual and/or network wiring and/or telecom systems.
Experience in leading individual contributors.
Hands-on expertise in A/V, wiring, or other technology-related field.
Experience in configuring network ports to work with A/V or telephone equipment.
Experience in installing smartboards, and mounting smart TVs
Ownership and technical skills are required to drive the delivery of service excellence with internal and external teams.
Must possess a valid Indiana driver's license.
Knowledge of ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) methodologies associated with Service Management will be a plus.
