The VP, Accounting – SEC Reporting serves as the company’s principal accounting officer, providing global and cross-functional leadership and direct support to the CFO.
Responsibilities:
Direct all aspects of accounting, including cash management and reconciliation, financial reporting, and balance sheet management
Provide GAAP guidance and technical accounting support
Review monthly and quarterly account reconciliations and other documents to ensure records adhere to company policies and GAAP
Ensure proper timing and application of revenue recognition rules
Establish, implement, and monitor commitment and expenditure controls and cash management
Help coordinate internal and external audits and oversee implementation of agreed-upon recommendations in your areas of responsibility
Oversee the hiring and career development of accounting department staff, ensuring all employees are qualified and capable of achieving their goals
Oversee staff to support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analyses
Manage the accounting department, driving efficient processes
Skills and Requirements:
Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting
CPA Certification
At least 5 years of proven senior leadership experience in financial accounting and SEC reporting.
Deep knowledge, understanding, and skills in the practical application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and IFRS, SOX compliance, SEC reporting, finance, budgeting, cost control principles, business analytics, and tax.
Experience in leading the accounting function in a publicly-traded company.
Experience in leading a global accounting setting.
Experience in automated accounting and financial reporting systems and business systems implementations cross-company.
Strong Knowledge of corporate financial controls systems and processes, and risk management practices.
Ability to analyze financial data, forecasting, and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects, with a hands-on approach.
Strong organizational and communication skills, as well as a strong sense of accountability and ownership.
Ability to work and prosper in a very fast-paced, highly dynamic environment.
Ambitious, highly motivated, and collaborative team player.
Medical device or healthcare industry experience is highly desirable.
