Pros of working at Multi-Service Center

Summertime is very slow, and people working for a long time get one month of paid time off.

Cons of working at Multi-Service Center

In the Energy Department, top management is all Ukrainian, and they don't understand what diversity means. They speak Ukrainian, not English, and favor the people in their inner circle. There is no advancement and no ear to listen to the employees' feedback. Also, their unrealistic scheduling needs to be changed, but the management doesn't want to do it because they think they went through it, so can you - very blue-collar mentality. And very low tech, they don't catch up with 21st century.

Multi-Service Center benefits

It is close to home, a very close commute.

What do you like best about Multi-Service Center's CEO and the leadership team?

This February, the new CEO came to the entire organization, so hopefully, she intervene in the Energy department, especially the director and associate director of the Energy Department.

How would you improve Multi-Service Center's culture?

Push those in management to different positions, circulate the people, and experience the different departments to learn more about the entire organization.

How did you prepare for the Multi-Service Center interview?

I read all the job descriptions, used interview tips from Indeed, and practiced many times. However, I discovered that they did not care how I performed. They hired anyone who related to the current employees without a degree or any experience.

How does your compensation at Multi-Service Center compare to the industry average?

Compensation as an "entry-level" intaker may be okay since I checked the social worker wage. If you come from retail or other entry-level job, the pay is OK. I was expected to work much harder and work for the cause, but this is not the case.

What's the diversity at Multi-Service Center like?

The energy department is not diverse. There are too many Ukrainian/Russian speakers, and they get together and speak their language. This is an American organization. Because the top management with 20+ years at this organization are all Ukranian, they don't understand what diversity means.

What brings you the most joy at Multi-Service Center?

I feel good when I help the Americans who need help. Many Americans feel shame for the assistance. On the other hand, non-documented people also can help. This is very frustrating. This is beyond my ability, and the government should intervene.
