OVERALL RESPNSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the OR.
Communication skills must be a strong asset.
Collaborate with: Anesthesia, Material Managers, Other Department Managers, Administrator, Physicians, Physician Offices, Scheduling, Vendors, Reps, Medical Students and Residents.
SPECIFIC TASKS:
Back up Circulator in the OR as needed.
Participate in periodic inspections as necessary with Quality/Risk Management/Infection Control/Administrator/Life Safety. Completes Incident Reports as indicated. Participates in writing/performing QIP studies. Collaborate with the IC/QA/RM Nurse.
Monitor and control staff schedules as needed in the absence of the OR Charge Nurse.
Schedule/conduct and assist with recruitment and training of staff as well as discipline of staff.
Provide information/education from the corporate level and the center level to the OR staff in the Monday a.m. huddle.
Oversee Inventory of supplies in collaboration with MM.
Maintain operating policy and procedures as defined by Surgery Partners.
Monitor and control staff schedules in collaboration with the OR Charge Nurse.
Timecard verification of OR staff weekly for payroll. Collaborate with the Payroll Specialist.
Perform annual reviews of all OR staff.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The ACLU of Kansas seeks a self-motivated team player to serve as a Data Manager. The Data Manager is a staff position within the Department of Policy and Research and will report to the Director of Policy and Research. This position will serve as a policy and advocacy expert on civil rights and civil liberties issues surrounding voting rights and criminal legal reform through research and analysis of legal and policy issues impacting voting rights and criminal legal reform. The role is responsible for conducting policy and data research on the position's issue portfolios, analyzing and developing state and local policies, supporting an impactful, non-partisan policy advocacy program, and developing a range of materials and to utilize and disseminate research findings and recommendations for public policy. The position is heavily focused on quantitative and qualitative policy, legal, and factual research.
During the Kansas legislative session, this staff person will regularly follow the legislative process. The ACLU of Kansas is also deeply engaged in policy work at the city and county level in jurisdictions across Kansas; as a result, this position may involve some travel to communities around the state and can be based in either our Overland Park, KS or Wichita, KS office.
The ACLU of Kansas has adopted a “campaign” approach for its work. Work is focused on pursuing specific integrated advocacy campaigns to achieve measurable goals that will expand civil liberties, while building the long-term power of the ACLU and the civil liberties movement. The organization's campaigns for the next two years are criminal legal reform and voting rights. Both campaigns have policy objectives they seek to attain at the state level and at the local level. This position is focused on data collection related to voting rights and criminal legal reform policy at the state and local level.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Conduct research on voting rights and criminal legal reform issues throughout the state and author public-facing reports on the affiliate's priority campaigns (two per year)
· Identify organization and programmatic areas for research and analysis
· Conceive, execute, and manage research and analysis projects
· Submit public records requests or support other staff in their submittals of public records requests
· Analyze policy issues from a constitutional/civil liberties perspective and produce or contribute to public-facing materials, such as briefing papers, talking points, legislative testimony, opinion pieces, or items produced by other departments
· Prepare memoranda stating the ACLU's position and/or best practices on legislation, resolutions, local ordinances, administrative rules and similar public policies related to voting rights and criminal legal reform based on research discoveries
· Commission/conduct original research in various areas to fill gaps, including through original data collection
· Examine existing data and identify gaps, especially in areas related to the affiliate's two priority campaigns
· Establish partnerships with external researchers (e.g., university-based academics), as needed, and serve as the liaison between those researchers and ACLU of Kansas team members
· Use data visualization tools to produce analyses that can be used across the affiliate
· Work collaboratively with the national ACLU and other ACLU affiliates to advance nationwide policy priorities.
· Attend national and regional ACLU training, staff conferences, and issue-oriented events
· Identify emerging civil liberties and racial justice issues.
· Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
· BA required.
· At least two years of local, state, and/or national-level policy-based research experience, with a strong preference for Kansas experience.
· Experience working in research and data collection, with a preference for those familiar with submitting Kansas Open Records Act (KORA) requests.
· Experience and familiarity with statistical programing software, including but not limited to Stata, R, SAS, SPSS, and Python.
· Authorship or a record of contribution to organizational and/or academic publications based on original data collection strongly preferred.
· Experience in working on racial justice issues and using a racial justice lens.
· Knowledge of civil liberties and civil rights issues and a commitment to advancing the ACLU's values, mission and goals.
· Excellent analytical, communication (written and oral), and research skills, with the ability to articulate policy/legal concepts and complex issues tactfully and effectively.
· A team player who can work independently, jointly, and under pressure; willing to learn; a self-starter and finisher.
· Exceptional ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines, while maintaining a strong attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to adjust priorities as required.
· Understanding of how to work collaboratively with colleagues across departments and functions; experience in integrated advocacy strongly preferred.
· Commitment to the highest ethical standards of advocacy and professionalism.
· Ability to work non-standard hours during legislative session and travel to meetings and events throughout the state, as needed. A valid automobile driver's license is required as this position requires travel throughout the state. Proof of valid driver's license is required.
· An unwavering passion for the mission and goals of the ACLU, including demonstrated interest in civil liberties, equity and racial justice is essential.
· Spanish fluency a plus, but not required.
COMPENSATION

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Investigate and litigate a range of civil liberties and civil rights cases in state and federal courts, to include: conducting factual and legal research; interviewing clients and witnesses; preparing legal memoranda, Open Records Act requests, demand letters, and other materials in advance of litigation; drafting pleadings and briefs; managing discovery; participating in trials and appeals, including conducting
voir dire
, taking witnesses, and giving oral arguments; negotiating settlements; and identifying and drafting amicus briefs;
Help assess requests for legal assistance as assigned, and identify appropriate cases for legal challenges;

QUALIFICATIONS:
We are posting for a Staff Attorney or Senior Staff Attorney, commensurate with experience. Minimum qualifications for each position are outlined below. Individuals with significant litigation experience are preferred and are strongly encouraged to apply.
Staff Attorney: at least two years of civil or criminal litigation experience, including experience taking/defending depositions, participating in evidentiary hearings and/or trials, and experience managing complex discovery. Experience in federal courts is strongly preferred.
Senior Staff Attorney: At least seven years of civil or criminal litigation experience, including experience managing complex litigation and significant experience in all facets of litigation, including taking/defending depositions, participating in evidentiary hearings and/or trials, brief-writing, and managing litigation teams. Experience in federal courts is strongly preferred.
For either Staff Attorney or Senior Staff Attorney, the following qualifications are required:
Demonstrated commitment to the mission and principles of the ACLU of Kansas;
J.D. and law license, with ability to waive into the Kansas Bar or sit for the next available bar exam;
Proficient knowledge and understanding of constitutional law and civil liberties issues;
Ability to litigate independently and collaboratively, juggle multiple projects at once, and exercise good judgment under stressful situations;

Position Summary
We're seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Trainee Surgical Neurophysiologist. This is an entry-level opportunity that offers paid training and mentorship in the growing field of surgical neurophysiology. No prior neurodiagnostic experience is required-just a strong work ethic, a scientific mindset, and a passion for patient care.
This is a traveling position based out of Wichita, Kansas, with required travel to other regional markets to support surgical cases as needed.
Responsibilities
Assist with patient prep, electrode application, and monitoring setup in the operating room
Observe and support neurophysiological data collection during surgeries
Participate in structured, supervised training to become CNIM-eligible
Maintain accurate documentation and follow hospital safety and infection control protocols
Travel to affiliated hospitals and surgical centers across multiple markets to support surgeries
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in neuroscience, biology, psychology, or related field (preferred)
Reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a surgical/clinical setting
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Willingness to work early mornings, travel as required, and maintain a professional demeanor in high-stress environments
Interest in pursuing CNIM certification

JOB SUMMARY:
Phlebotomist I performs daily phlebotomy activities of the Patient Service Center (PSC) or In-office Phlebotomy (IOP) accurately and on time. The person in this position interacts with the client, patients, and other PathGroup personnel in a professional and courteous manner and performs with confidence, both the forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Greets customers appropriately. Treat all customers in a courteous manner.
Ensures all field phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time.
Collects specimens according to established procedures. Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex. urine or fecal) as required. Reduces patient anxiety by providing a calm environment for patients before, during and after the collection process.
Disposes of blood or other biohazard fluids or tissue, in accordance with applicable laws, standards, or policies. Disposes of contaminated sharps, in accordance with applicable laws, standards, and policies.
Completes requisitions accurately.
Enters patient, specimen, insurance, or billing information into computer. Requires attention to detail to maintain high level of accuracy. Communicate with clients to confirm handwritten orders, verify test(s) ordered, obtain accurate billing information, i.e. diagnosis codes, UPIN information, etc.
Researches test/client information utilizing lab computer system.
Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
Package specimens for transport. Stores specimen sample according to required temperature, places samples in appropriate collection container/ tube, accurately labels, follows different procedures as outlined by specific to protocol deemed necessary for transport to maintain integrity of the specimen. Demonstrates proficiency of proper collection methods and proper processing of all specimens.
Maintains required records and documentation.
Maintains daily records and all appropriate PSC/IOP Phlebotomy logs.
Assist with compilation of monthly statistics and data.
Performs basic clerical duties, i.e. filing, faxing, and preparing mail. The person in this position is required to perform electronic data entry.
Approves time in attendance software by noon on the Monday following the end of the pay period. Submits accurate expense and travel logs Monday for the week prior or as directed by management.

Receive and fulfill beverage orders from guests, cocktail servers, and bartenders.
Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to standard beverage recipes.
Operate cash registers, and accurately complete transactions according to standardized procedures.
Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Prior experience in the same or related field preferred.
Must have excellent customer service and communication skills.
Must be able to stand and/or walk for duration of shift.
Must be able to lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds regularly.
Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary licenses and/or certifications.
