We're looking for a dynamic Quality Manager to champion excellence at a site with 300 talented associates producing high-precision aerospace components. Strong understanding of key manufacturing principles, such as Statics, Dynamics, Mechanical Design, Thermodynamics, Materials and Heat Transfer Possess a mechanical aptitude that would allow for the ability to effectively function as a quality representative at Material Review Board (MRB) level. Experience in a machine shop environment is preferred. Experience/familiarity with aerospace grade materials and specifications (inconel, titanium, stainless steels), heat treating and case-hardening (nitriding, plasma spray, boron diffusion, etc.) preferred. Ability to both promote and foster a Continuous Improvement culture both internally and at our supplier's. Previous experience in implementing and using Lean tools and methodologies. General understanding of Aerospace customer requirements - OEM, FAA and DCMA. Excellent computer skills (word processing, graphics, spreadsheet, etc.) Demonstrated proficiency in project management. Team orientated with the ability to influence others without authority Effective communicator - strong written and verbal communication skills is required. Ability to travel locally and out of state Previous experience presenting to customers in a plus. SUMMARY The purpose of the SHIFT Team Leader role is to provide guidance and support on an ongoing basis to production associates in the MagStop Value Stream. The success of the person in this role is vital to the continuous improvement efforts in the area(s), as well as the success of Warner Electric to meet and exceed customer expectations. May assist and govern the training of all new associates to ensure consistency and transferred understanding. Training will include, but is not limited to appropriate methods of standard work and rotation, changeover and setup of machines, maintaining and operating machines, understanding daily priorities (including safety start-up check sheets, first piece process, audit and end of shift line stock/clean up), ensuring the correct procedures are followed to produce quality parts, completing the necessary paperwork throughout the shift, training and clarifying company policies and procedures, and updating Daily Management boards daily. 8. Will lead by example and provide coaching to all associates as needed to ensure all policies and procedures are followed during the shift. Examples include but are not limited to: safe work practices, time management (‘buzzer to buzzer' work performance), adherence to the plant work rules, and quality processes. If the coaching does not prove to be effective, the Team Leader will notify the Supervisor for additional guidance and support. 9. Open to cross-training on multiple Teams/part numbers, recognizing ongoing cross-training is not limited to his assigned value stream area. 10. Will act a primary ‘coordinator' with Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance to identify areas for improvement and solving issue as they arise 11. Maintain an open line of communication with fellow associates to communicate concerns or ideas to Supervision in a timely manner. Included are issues regarding personnel, safety, quality, delivery, productivity, or general concerns relating to the assigned area. Meetings with supervision should be scheduled as needed to address any concerns. 12. Interface with the previous shift Team Leader(s) as well as the following Team Leader(s) to pass on relevant information. 13. Subject to standard overtime scheduling and rotation. 14. Assist the maintenance group when installing new equipment, relocating existing equipment, or when performing major repair or installation projects. Perform general department cleanup after completion of project. Will measure, cut, thread, and install plumbing pipe after layout has been approved. Remove and replace valves, fittings, pumps, etc. on plant equipment. Assemble work benches, lockers, and cabinets. May use a variety of hand and power tools. Perform minor welding tasks, such as minor welding tasks, such as making trays, pans, or brackets. Steam clean plant equipment and complete basic building repairs. Performs minor sheet metal repair which includes heating and bending to original shape or contour. Will perform carpenter work which includes building shelves, bulletin boards and work benches. Set-ups may include removing and installing support rolls; indicating, removing, and installing pressure rolls; installing spindles; changing motor pulleys; and changing and adjusting diamond roll dresser. Also, will install one motor block to drive the grinding wheel to dress the drive roll and a second motor block to drive the grinding wheel for bearing components. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a welder , you will be responsible for the daily setup and operation of one or more robot welding machines. Operator will mainly utilize Fronius, OTC, and Dynasty welding machines. Operator will also assist other operators with any of their daily duties, including but not limited to, area housekeeping, maintenance work, and material staging. Operators will manufacture parts by following a part-specific blueprint/drawing. These drawings are defined by the engineering department in conjunction with customer drawings and specifications. This position is considered a safety sensitive position due to "the operation of a motor vehicle, other vehicle (forklift), equipment, machinery or power tools or the repairing, maintaining or monitoring the performance or operation of any equipment, machinery or manufacturing process, the malfunction or disruption of which could result in injury or property damage”. Staff and operate assigned machinery to facilitate production needs. Stage raw materials at designated work center Load and unload machines. Use handheld tools/gauges to confirm in-process part conformance. Skid in-process parts in a manner that provides protection from damage. Ensure production identification and traceability. Conduct operator level maintenance when required. Must adhere to all safety regulations and company policies. Other duties as assigned. YOUR EXPERIENCES & SKILLS High school diploma or equivalent (GED) Technical certification a plus Works well individually or within a team. Ability to read drawings, blueprints and specifications. Must understand work orders, work instructions, as well as verbal instruction. Must understand the quality requirements for multiple customers. Great attention to detail. Ability to use handheld measuring tools to confirm product conformance. Knows when to seek clarification on problems. Previous experience with industry standard welding equipment, fixturing, and related tooling a plus. Must have a basic understanding of industry standard weld symbols. Experienced with material specific factors that contribute to overall weld quality, penetration, porosity, etc.... Previous welding experience utilizing MIG (metal inert gas) weld mild and stainless steel and TIG (tungsten inert gas) weld aluminum techniques preferred Experience with ABB/OTC welding robots and mig welding techniques preferred Excellent attendance.
