This is an individual contributor position responsible for receiving, unloading, and storing incoming product loads and inspecting finished products for damage and defects. The incumbent will operate forklift equipment to move material. They will be responsible for identifying material and product being loaded and unloaded. The incumbent will create tags for products being unloaded, which may involve taking notes and pictures and entering that information into the computer. Incumbent will be responsible for inspecting galvanized product to ensure a high-quality finished product and making recommendations to resolve any damage or defects found in products. Interact with customers and truck drivers, coordinating special handling as a result of an inspection, work safely with the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Essential Functions: Operate forklifts with the capacity to move up to 22,000 lbs. of material on and off of flatbed trailers Communicating potential problems or needs with material to the Lead or Supervisor Inspect incoming material for proper venting and hanging. Must be able to identify coated material. Keep machines, accurate, and second floor work area clean and orderly. 8. Drain excess material from hoppers at mold changes and take the drained material to the second floor Materials Department. 9. Perform purging operations at end of run or color change 10. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and push or pull an excess of 100 lbs 11. Maintain and enforce all company safety, environmental and department of health requirements 12. Process changes must be documented on quality check sheet 13. Additional IML training required to load labels properly on the In-Line Labeling machines 14. New Material Handlers will be trained to check material at the beginning of each new order and at the beginning of their shifts on the machines in their section. 15. Material Handler will confirm by the BOM on the Traveler that material is hooked up to the correct line on the Conair unit and confirm that line is drawing material from correct silo or bin that stores material. The information concerning the exact material that is stored in the bins and silos is display on a monitor screen and is updated by the Materials Department concerning what material is in the specific bins or silos. 16. After the Material Handler has confirmed the order, they are running is properly hooked up to correct bin, the Material Handler will relay this information to the Lead Process Tech in that section. This job function will be completed every day and every shift when machines run, including weekends. 17. Anytime information is found to not be consistent with BOM from Traveler or that the Conair material line is not hooked up correctly the Material Handler is to immediately contact his QA Department & Group Leader and then shut down the machine until a decision can be made about inaccuracies of information. If machine is running on barrels that are made by the Blending Department the information on the barrel must also match information for material as noted by the BOM on the Traveler. 18. Must obtain and maintain Lock-out Tag-out Certification 19. Assist Lead person in starting machines QUALIFICATIONS: 1. High school diploma / GED equivalent 2. Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously. 3. Ability to calculate parts requirements and insure proper timing on resin color changes 4. Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently and to push / pull loads in excess of 100 pounds 5. Ability to climb ladders / steps 6. Ability to stand and walk for a minimum of 7 hours during an 8 hour shift 7. Ability to work in a dusty environment 8. This is a full-time position which also includes, * Competitive Benefits Package * Weekly Attendance Bonus In a nutshell, our Material Handlers are responsible for moving product and material to and from the production lines, as well as accurately storing product in the warehouse. Our products are packaged on skids that may be longer than most and in tight quarters, so the ideal candidate will have both swing mast and traditional forklift experience. Essential Job Responsibilities * Operate a forklift in a safe manner around people, warehouse racking, and production equipment. * Complete planning requirements ahead of schedule. * Pull and assemble skids and stage material to supply the production lines, as needed. * Supply packaging supplies and/or raw materials to the end of the production lines. * Use handheld scanner to properly add/remove product and/or move/consume raw material to ensure company systems are accurate. * Use small hand tools to prepare skids for warehouse storage. * Transfer skids, 4FT - 20FT long, and place in the appropriate location without damaging skid, product, or racking. * Weigh product between production orders, as needed. * Move peripheral production equipment safely and as directed by team members and supervisor. * Perform other duties as assigned. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Conduct all warehouse functions guided by company policies and procedures, safety, customer requests and the Customer Service Department Support and abide by the company's safety and security programs, initiatives, policies and procedures Complete warehouse tasks utilizing RF Scanners, forklifts (sit down and standup) pallet jacks, stretch wrappers etc. Receiving Freight : Unload material off semi-truck trailers Inspect, account and receive product into the Warehouse Management System (WMS) Count all product and measure against work orders to ensure accuracy of shipment Report shortages/overages/damages/mis-shipments on appropriate forms or scanners Efficiently stack and store product in a manner that will not damage products Compare to manifest and check all shipments for seals, damage, infestation and unique product identifiers (lots, batches, serial numbers, etc.) Inventory: Store product in a manger that meets product storage comingling requirements Always account for inventory moves in the WMS Report any changes, damages or deterioration in stored product Always stack and store product that is neat and organized Order Picking: Ensure that the correct product and quantity is picked, and the physical inventory matches the work orders When picking, pick in a manner that prevents any type of product damage Stage and conduct one final inspection of product to ensure product is damage free and the physical inventory matches the work order Shipping Freight: Ensure completeness and accuracy of outbound shipments Ensure the product is handled in a manner that keeps the product damage free when loading product onto trailers Inspect and clean trailers to ensure trailer is free of any debris or contaminates that could potentially damage the product Understands trailing loading and weight distribution requirements Secure freight in conjunction with customer requirements Verify that the trailer is properly sealed Communicate with the CSR, Traffic and Supervisor when load is complete Equipment: Maintain the equipment in a neat, clean and orderly fashion Operate equipment safely and efficiently that complies with OSHA and company standards of operation Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when necessary Other Duties: Maintain a neat, clean and orderly work area and ensure company housekeeping policies and procedures are kept Assist in cleaning warehouse, trailers, railcars and grounds as needed Complete all duties in a manner that promotes safety at all times Lump, package, repack, rework, kitting and light assembly of customer's products Any additional duties as assigned by management COMPETENCIES Attention to detail - Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks. Handling and storage of factory packaged products in bags, drums, pails, super sacks, etc. Loading or unloading of bulk, drummed, or bagged material. Operates a forklift.
