Summary
Under the guidance of a supervisor or technical staff, the Animal Technician | Level 2 performs a variety of tasks within GMP-controlled environments to support production at our West Point site. This role requires strict adherence to biosecurity protocols to protect specific pathogen free (SPF) chicken flocks, including isolation principles, personnel/material flow control, and sanitation measures.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure the health, care, maintenance, security, and safety of SPF chicken flocks.
Maintain SPF status through rigorous biosecurity practices (e.g., no direct bird contact, multiple daily showers, frequent uniform/gown changes, PPE use, disinfection of materials).
Perform animal husbandry duties such as feeding, grooming, cleaning, and health monitoring.
Conduct breeding activities including collection, transfer, and artificial insemination.
Manage all aspects of fertile egg handling: collection, identification, disinfection, storage, incubation, candling, and distribution.
Operate euthanasia equipment safely and humanely.
Collect SPF samples, including blood draws using needles.
Hatch, wing band, and brood new flocks.
Operate and maintain equipment such as incubators, refrigerators, hatchers, and rack washers.
Stock and maintain supplies.
Work collaboratively in a unionized environment with management and fellow technicians.
Document all tasks in compliance with cGMP standards.
Operate company vehicles as required.
Willingness to work off-shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed (department operates 7 days/week).
Physical requirements include lifting up to 40 lbs, frequent walking, standing, and pushing/pulling.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Clerical Assistant 3, you will serve as a centralized timekeeper responsible for processing time and payroll actions in a regional human resource office that provides services to State Correctional Institutions. This position requires a thorough knowledge of all pay rules, collective bargaining agreements, and time-related policies in order to ensure accurate pay processing. Your day will consist of investigating and resolving pay discrepancies, verifying and correcting time entries, inputting payroll schedule substitutions, and coding overtime. You will also perform clerical duties such as filing, typing, tracking data, answering phone calls and emails, as well as inputting data into various computer systems.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Acts as a liaison between the clinical and coding functions. Provides education to the medical staff and other clinical professional on documentation relevant to the Revenue Management processes and Discharge Not Final Billed reduction. Provides daily interactions with physicians and clinical professionals regarding documentation clarification and optimization. It is expected that the CDIS have previous clinical skills, including an understanding of Anatomy and Physiology in order to appropriately discuss with the physician such issues as the underlying etiology, principal diagnosis, diagnostic studies, treatment modalities, to name a few. The essential focus of this position is to analyze the clinical information, using the documentation as the primary driver for overall System Case Mix Index.
Job Duties
