Basic Function: The principal responsibility of this position is to create a welcoming environment for all clients while providing client support to our New York Branch. This individual will be the first point of contact for clients and internal partners. Principal Responsibilities: Answer and direct incoming telephone calls, take messages and greet customers in a friendly and courteous manner. Assist customers with deposits, withdrawals, or payments and resolve client concerns. Process transactions per customer requests. Transactions could include cash and check deposits, cash withdrawals or check cashing, issuing bank checks, debit card services, check ordering, online banking assistance, stop payments and wire transfers. Ensure that all activities are performed in compliance with federal, state and Bank Secrecy Act regulatory requirements. Background and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required, and 1-3 years Teller/customer service experience. Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, train personnel, write reports, and speak clearly to customers and employees. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently with little to no supervision. Cash handling experience preferred. High level of accountability, efficiency, and accuracy. Prior Customer Service experience. Microsoft Office and Excel skills. Salesforce experience preferred. Effectively manage new account and loan pipeline with proper follow-up for members in order to close effectively and efficiently. Meet / exceed sales goals for all key metrics of branch growth including but not exclusively new members, new checking accounts, and new loan bookings. Demonstrate professionalism and empathy during member interactions. Assist branch team members in driving referrals for new accounts and loans. May perform outbound calls including service lists, lead lists, referral follow-up, etc. in order to meet / exceed sales and service goals. May be assigned online loan applications to complete; follow up with the members and ensure an effective and efficient closing. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of MCU products and services. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of credit union policies and procedures as well as applicable rules and regulations and how they apply to MCUs environment. Back up teller line as needed. Assist in management of lobby member flow to ensure members move through the branch environment in the most efficient and effective manner. Summary: The Financial Services Representative builds and strengthens member relationships and introduces members to new, more efficient ways of banking online, the mobile app, and ATMs. The Financial Services Representative will learn members' personal financial goals and recommend tailored solutions to meet their needs. Education/Experience: * High School degree or GED required. * Minimum one year of general work experience, customer service, call center, sales or branch experience required. * Minimum of six months cash handling experience preferred * Strong communication, interpersonal, customer service, sales, mathematical, problem solving, multitasking and computer skills, and attention to detail required Job Responsibilities: * Work closely with new and existing members to understand their financial needs and deepen relationships * Process routine financial transactions for members efficiently and accurately (including deposits and withdrawals, loan payments, cashier's checks, IRA) in compliance with regulations and guidelines * Provide recommendations and assist members with a wide array of financial solutions to satisfy their spending, savings, borrowing, and investing needs * Educate members to bank more efficiently using the web, mobile, and ATM * Provide financial education and services to members to help them fit banking into their everyday lives * Proactively contact members to schedule appointments to discuss their personal financial goals * Perform other duties as needed upon request by immediate supervisor Benefits of Joining the Teachers Team: We provide a competitive compensation and benefits package that includes, but is not limited to: * This position is eligible for our quarterly retail performance incentive program.
