Maintenance Planner Job in Munising, MI
Plans, schedules and coordinates all plant maintenance work. Supports Production by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through the effective planning and coordinating of labor, parts and materials, and equipment. Enforces and supports all safety requirements and Company expectations.
MAJOR TASKS:
+ Acts as liaison between Production and Maintenance to plan, schedule, and execute maintenance work. Supports Production's need for equipment availability and performance by ensuring maintenance service is executed in a timely manner.
+ Continuously monitors PM performance with Maintenance Supervisor and Plant Engineer to ensure preventative maintenance tasks are effective and completed.
+ Monitors equipment performance, investigates failures, analyzes data, and develops and executes action plans to improve equipment reliability.
+ Regularly reviews any backlog of maintenance requests/work orders and adjusts priorities and schedules.
+ Keeps the Mill Manager and Maintenance Manager informed of abnormal or critical situations. Develops, implements and executes predictive/preventive maintenance procedures and plans.
+ Analyzes, identifies, recommends, and implements solutions for reducing production downtime.
+ Plans and schedules maintenance activities for shutdowns. Identifies critical maintenance needs, provides the time line for work activities, and monitors activity to ensure successful execution.
+ Maintains a database of all maintenance activities. Maintains records and files. Runs reports. Participates in the budgetary process by providing maintenance cost history and data.
+ Maintains inventory of parts and other maintenance supplies. Works closely with Purchasing to order new parts and supplies. Responsible for ensuring adequate supply of resources when needed.
+ Follows all safety rules and regulations. Supports a safe work environment in all activities.
+ Performs maintenance related tasks as needed.
+ Responsible for supporting and enforcing company policies and procedures.
+ High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in related field preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in wood products environment.
+ Mechanical/electrical background is necessary. Possess technical/equipment knowledge. Understand the maintenance processes in order to accurately estimate labor hours, material requirements and skills needed to complete a job.
+ Strong leadership skills with the ability to direct, motivate, and provide clear direction. Must have a demonstrated ability to visualize and communicate the execution of work.
+ Must have strong written and verbal communications
+ Ability to work with computer equipment and proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
+ Good math skills.
+ Strong organizational skills. Demonstrated organizational and planning skills.
+ Demonstrated ability to write and provide simple and accurate instructions.
+ Demonstrated ability to read standard blueprints, machine and process drawings. Have the ability to sketch or redline existing drawings.
+ Must be able to manage multiple priorities or projects simultaneously and keep them progressing to completion.
