Munro Shoes's mission statement
Our founder, Don Munro, moved to Hot Springs, Arkansas in 1959 and established the original Lake Catherine Footwear, which was a division of a New Hampshire based shoe manufacturer. In 1972 Don purchased the Arkansas division and established Munro & Company, Inc. After decades of ownership Don's five-children purchased Munro & Company, Inc. keeping the legacy alive. While three of the owners manage the daily operations of the company, Don is still actively involved in the business. Today the company operates two facilities in Arkansas, Clarksville Footwear for product development and manufacturing and the Fred Young Center in Hot Springs houses the corporate offices, distribution and warehousing. Along with making shoes in Arkansas, we also source uppers and finished shoes from trusted global partners. The private label division of Munro & Company, Inc. currently designs and imports a men's work boot program. Munro & Company, Inc. also is the US distributor of the Spanish brand, HISPANITAS SHOES, a women's fashion shoe line made in Spain.
