Full-time | Hospice & Palliative Medicine Physician Summary: Munson Healthcare is seeking a committed and compassionate Hospice and Palliative Medicine Physician to join our expanding palliative care team in Traverse City, Michigan. This is an exceptional opportunity for a physician with a strong work ethic and dedication to clinical excellence in both inpatient and outpatient palliative medicine, as well as hospice care. The ideal candidate will be joining a team of experienced, friendly, and initiative-taking healthcare providers, clinicians, and support staff who are dedicated to delivering excellent care to their patients and community.
This full-time position follows a true 7-on 7-off schedule, providing meaningful time off and lifestyle balance.

Position Duties/Highlights Include:
* 7-On/7-Off Model
* Begin service: Tuesday 8am
* End service: Following Tuesday 8am
* No clinical responsibilities during off service weeks
* Inpatient Palliative Medicine
* Lead a high-acuity inpatient consult service at Munson Medical Center
* Supported by two experienced Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) working four 10-hour shifts per week
* Independent management of weekend consults (sole provider on call)
* Outpatient Clinic Support
* Provide supervision to an outpatient palliative clinic staffed by three autonomous APPs and a licenses clinical social worker providing psychotherapy
* Dedicated palliative medicine clinic located on Munson's medical campus
* Hospice Call
* Provide call coverage for Munson Hospice Care during service weeks
* Lead hospice interdisciplinary meetings on Wednesday (of your on-service week), 8am to 10:30am

Wages and Benefits include:
Annual Base Salary: $236,000* (board eligible); $241,000* (board certified) based on 40-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.
The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $315,120** (board eligible) and $320,620** (board certified), which includes the baseline salary, 401 (k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:
Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $55,520.

Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.

Approximately 25% of new admissions per year to the NYC jail system will receive care on the mental health service. This service strives to provide safe, holistic and evidence-based therapeutic interventions for the diverse range of mental health issues that face the population, from serious mental illness to the natural struggles that accompany incarceration. The service provides some of the most comprehensive and unique treatment modalities in the country, including specialty housing units for individuals with serious mental illness, a 24-hour on-call psychiatric service, robust creative arts programming, a strong DBT training program, clinics in each of the facilities, substance use treatment, integrated re- entry services, and relationships with multiple training institutions throughout the city.
Staff physicians provide primary care to patients in jail-based clinics, perform intake evaluation and treatment and provide emergency care with the support of Emergency Medicine physicians.
The healthcare system is a single-payer system that requires no physician time dedicated to billing. No administrative work is expected outside of work hours, promoting career/life balance.
Physicians work as part of a care delivery team with strong administrative support staff, integrated nursing and mental health.

* Join the practice of MHC Little Traverse Primary Care - 2 Physicians, 5 APPs
* Call: Telephone call only, rotated - weekly call rotations for after hours, weekends, and holidays

* Office Hours: Monday - Friday 8-5p
* Clinic offers: Laboratory and Radiology services at this location.
