A Day in the Life
You will be part of a supportive team! - Our clinics are close-knit teams that encourage each other every day. You will assist with day-to-day operations as required for optimal patient care which can include assisting fellow teammates and providers when necessary.
You will be responsible for the care of patients assigned to you from the time the patient arrives until they leave. Must be courteous, tactful and discrete in handling patients, with quality care and patient safety being the first concern.
Transfers and properly positions patients for examinations in order to obtain desired radiographic results according to physician specifications. Provides immobilization as required and protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.

What's Required
Completion of an AMA approved course curriculum in Radiologic Technology, either in a hospital or college-based school of Radiologic Technology.
Must have passed or is eligible for the examination of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Continued employment is provisional based on completion and certification by the ARRT within six months. Registered technologists must be in good standing.
BCLS requirement annually.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
Graduates must successfully complete the NBRC registry examination and become licensed within the State of Michigan within 6 months from the date of appointment to this classification. Failure to attain certification and state licensure within the 6 month period shall result in termination of employment.
Administers respiratory therapy and ventilator care to Medical Center patients including those in critical care units. Observes and records patient symptoms and reactions to therapy. Reports to physician about patient. Makes appropriate adjustments.
Proceeds with respiratory care based on patient assessment, planning, implementation, and situation.
Participates as functioning member of cardiac arrest team. Answers respiratory distress and STAT treatment calls.
Assists with blood gasses and interpretation. Performs pulmonary function tests. Provides end tidal co2 and bicore measurements. Provides, and may instruct in, proper tracheal suctioning and airway maintenance.
Sets up, adjusts, and regularly monitors mechanical ventilation, BiPAP, and CPAP units.
Transports patients receiving oxygen and mechanical ventilation with portable oxygen, ventilator, and hand-operated ventilation devices. Lifts, turns, moves, and transports patients using wheelchairs, stretchers, etc. using appropriate techniques as instructed/assigned.

A Day in the Life
Ensure Safety & Professional Conduct: Follow all safety guidelines, use proper body mechanics, report unsafe conditions, maintain a professional appearance, and adhere to radiation safety standards including ALARA, collimation, and patient shielding.
Provide High-Quality Patient Care: Care for patients from arrival to departure, communicate respectfully, ensure patient comfort and safety, properly transfer and position patients, and assist in emergencies or first aid when needed.
Perform Diagnostic Imaging Procedures: Operate radiology equipment safely, choose proper technical factors, select and load imaging cassettes, produce high-quality radiographs, and assist physicians with contrast media and sterile procedures.
Maintain Equipment, Rooms & Records: Keep exam rooms clean and stocked, prevent cross-contamination, handle equipment responsibly, report malfunctions, and complete related clerical tasks including documentation as required.
Support Department Operations & Ongoing Learning: Rotate shifts and departments as needed, take on-call duty, assume delegated responsibilities in the absence of leadership, and participate in continuing education and professional development.
Qualifications
What's Required

A Day in the Life
You will be part of a supportive team! - Our clinics are close-knit teams that encourage each other every day. You will assist with day-to-day operations as required for optimal patient care which can include assisting fellow teammates and providers when necessary.
You will be responsible for the care of patients assigned to you from the time the patient arrives until they leave. Must be courteous, tactful and discrete in handling patients, with quality care and patient safety being the first concern.
Transfers and properly positions patients for examinations in order to obtain desired radiographic results according to physician specifications. Provides immobilization as required and protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.

What's Required
Completion of an AMA approved course curriculum in Radiologic Technology, either in a hospital or college-based school of Radiologic Technology.
Must have passed or is eligible for the examination of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Continued employment is provisional based on completion and certification by the ARRT within six months. Registered technologists must be in good standing.
BCLS requirement annually.

A Day in the Life
Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, performs radiographic examinations of various anatomical parts and systems of the body in order to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of physical injuries or medical disorders. Must be certified by ARRT in radiography. In addition, may be requested to train and perform in other modalities, i.e., CT, Mammography, etc. and train and work in clinic settings.
Perform Diagnostic Imaging Procedures: Escort and prepare patients, position them correctly, operate radiographic/fluoroscopic and mobile x-ray equipment, select proper technical factors, follow digital imaging protocols, use PACS, prepare/administer contrast media as directed, and assist with first aid or adverse reactions.
Ensure Safety, Infection Control & Quality Standards: Apply radiation safety and protective shielding, follow sterile technique, prevent cross-contamination, maintain cleanliness, uphold universal precautions, ensure equipment is used responsibly, report malfunctions, and maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
Support Patient Care & Communication: Provide compassionate care, maintain confidentiality, communicate effectively, respond to patient needs, educate patients about procedures, and assist in emergencies while upholding professional, ethical, and compliant behavior.
Maintain Records, Equipment & Department Operations: Complete documentation for each case, perform clerical tasks (scheduling, phones, logs), maintain room stock and equipment, assist in outside clinics when needed, participate in call rotation, and support departmental workflow and team collaboration.
Participate in Professional Growth & Organizational Improvement: Maintain certifications and CME credits, stay current in radiologic technology and cross-training areas, instruct students when requested, engage in performance improvement initiatives, demonstrate sound judgment, and present a professional appearance and demeanor.
Qualifications
What's Required
Completion of a two-year accredited radiologic technology program including course work in anatomy and physiology, radiation safety and hold current registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
Analytical, visual, hearing, and sensory touch acuity ability necessary to determine proper position and exposure factors based on suspected pathology, patient size and age, and other controlling factors.
Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact with patients, frequently in situations which evoke anxiety or confusion and explain procedures and dispel unwarranted fears.
Clerical ability necessary to maintain records, schedule exams, etc.
Ability to a) apply knowledge of radiologic procedures and technique, b) learn to perform other diagnostic examinations as necessary, and c) become familiar with departmental policies and procedures.
BLS trained.
