Job Summary Murphy Exploration and Production seeks a technically capable and experienced Petrophysicist for the Houston office to support offshore exploration and development. We are looking for a candidate with a track record of verified petrophysical evaluations of deepwater wells, support of interdisciplinary technical projects as well as planning and execution of formation evaluation programs for deep water projects. Responsibilities * Formation evaluation and development of petrophysical models for a variety of age reservoirs for offshore Gulf of America, Côte d'Ivoire, and other New Ventures opportunities * Actively participate with a multidisciplinary team that undertakes subsurface technical evaluations and reservoir characterization projects. * Integration and calibration of core to wireline and LWD log data to provide volumetric determination, lithological determination, fluid contacts and completions recommendations * Maintain and update the field specific petrophysical models, integrating and reconciling existing and future data from all subsurface disciplines * Maintain well data for exploration and development areas * Data collection activities include planning and execution of formation evaluation programs and procedures for coring, wireline logging, data quality control, computer processing, and data management * Support all aspects of open hole log applications and interpretation of routine and advanced core analysis * Perform operational petrophysics while drilling, real time evaluation, collection of formation pressures, fluid samples and rotary sidewall cores * Liaise with core analysis, coring, mudlogging, wireline, and LWD companies and in-house experts, to verify operational procedures are being executed with high standards of safety, quality, and best practices * Display strong organizational and communication skills, making evaluations, interpretations, and assessments available for integration by team members from assets * Champion petrophysical knowledge sharing / mentorship across the subsurface organization * Undertake petrophysical regional studies to support near field exploration and development teams in their efforts to evaluate new basins/plays and improve reservoir characterization of strategic assets Qualifications/ Requirements * Bachelor's degree in Geoscience or Engineering Discipline * Minimum 12 years of Petrophysical Engineering experience within the oil industry, service company or producer * Deep water basin experience such as Gulf of Mexico, West Africa, or Atlantic Margins * Experience with petrophysical software packages: Geolog. The Senior Reservoir Engineer will provide technical and strategic support to the Haynesville Development team, with responsibilities spanning prospect delineation, performance forecasting, development planning, economic evaluation, flowback optimization, production forecasting, post-well reviews, and reserves estimation. This role works cross-functionally with teams including Finance, Geoscience, Wells, Operations, and Midstream to drive value creation and deliver key business outcomes in a high-activity, multi-rig drilling program. Responsibilities * Tax compliance preparation utilizing Excel, SAP, and CorpTax (Forms 1120, 1065 and 5471) * Tax accounting monthly work utilizing Excel, SAP and CorpTax under the direction of the Company's tax accounting lead * Assist with diverse oil & gas tax matters including tax partnerships, state tax matters, and tax depreciation and depletion * Detail oriented and strong financial and accounting skills * Individual contributor * Federal & state income tax compliance for U.S.-based multi-national * Track non-U.S. previously taxed income ("PTI") and earnings & profits * Work well with teams, in a fast-paced environment, with multiple deadlines and tasks Licenses/ Certifications CPA preferred Qualifications/Requirements * Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Economic, Finance or Mathematics * Minimum 5 years' experience in U.S. federal & state income tax compliance or planning * Experience with CorpTax or other tax compliance software * Big Four or Law Firm experience a plus The individual is required to follow all applicable safety precautions. Work is performed almost entirely in a controlled (i.e., inside) environment and does not typically subject the incumbent to any hazardous/extreme elements; some positions may require regularly moving or transporting items weighing up to 25 lbs. around the office for various needs. Job Summary Engineering Summer Interns experience real-life projects with hands-on participation in Murphy's core businesses during the 12-week summer internship. They will work with a mentor and a group of other professionals to make recommendations for further activities related to engineering and/or operations.
