Paschall, L. W., 1916-
The company began with a single truck and one driver in 1937.
Biographical / Historical Information: Paschall Truck Lines Company of Murray Kentucky was incorporated by L. W. and Mary Frank Erwin Paschall in 1937.
1949 – Roland Mullen Bought his first truck, a ’49 Chev Maple Leaf, he persevered through two decades of economic growth and contraction.
1964 – Established as Mullen Trucking Ltd.
The Paschall’s sold the company to Randall A. Waller in 1973.
These included Dominion Rathole Drilling Ltd., OK Rathole Drilling Ltd., Anderson Air Drilling Ltd., Lloydminster Heavy Crude Services Ltd., Temor Oil Services (1974) Ltd., RC Campbell Oilfield Services Ltd. and Kam’s Oilfield Hauling.
1980 – Mullen relocated from Calgary to Aldersyde, located south of the city, where it operated from a modified mobile home.
1983 – Incorporated under the Alberta Companies Act.
Prior to founding TransAm in 1987, the Jacobsons came from National Beef and National Carriers based in Liberal, KS.
1989 – The Company purchased FSJ L.A.N.D. Transport Ltd. and moved the Oilfield Division to Leduc.
1990 – Mullen moved to new, expanded facilities in Aldersyde and implemented its Quality Program.
1994 – Mullen’s Truckload Division had a customer base of over 2,000.
The company expanded to include over 570 trucks, 1,200 trailers and about 800 employees in four states by 1997.
2000 – Mullen issued its first semi-annual dividend payment to shareholders.
2005 – In July 2005, Mullen completed its conversion into an income trust.
2008 – Mullen Group completed the acquisitions of R. E. Line Trucking (Coleville) Ltd. and the assets and business of the Transport Division of Essential Energy Services Trust.
2009 – On May 1, 2009, Mullen Group Income Fund was reorganized from an income trust into a traditional corporation.
On June 1, 2011, Mullen Group directly acquired all the issued and outstanding common shares of Hi-Way 9 Express Ltd., Load-Way Ltd., Streamline Logistics Inc. and 1006213 Alberta Ltd. (collectively, “Hi-Way 9”).
2013 – On May 31, 2013, Mullen Group acquired all of the issued and outstanding shares of Jay’s Moving & Storage Ltd.
2014 – July, Murray assumed the role of President along with his responsibilities as Chairman and CEO.
On October 1, 2016, Mullen Group purchased Calgary based Caneda Transport Inc. and its Calgary, Alberta terminal.
