What You will Accomplish
The Operations Representative plays a key role in delivering a positive, memorable guest experience. This proactive team member is responsible for welcoming guests and handling admissions and operations in high-traffic areas such as the exhibit hall entrance, 4D Theater, school group check-in, special exhibits, Public Science Common, and the Theater of Electricity.
* Participate in Museum initiatives to support the Museum's commitment to providing your guests and colleagues with a welcoming and comfortable environment.
* Provide friendly, professional service by offering accurate information and assistance to guests. Address their needs promptly, resolve issues effectively, and seek support when necessary. * Welcome and admit guests to venues by scanning tickets and memberships, managing capacity, and enforcing admission policies to ensure efficient and friendly entry.
* Operate the theaters, venues and provide support to other Divisional needs to deliver safe, high-quality guest experience by following safety protocols, maintaining cleanliness, ensuring equipment functions properly, reporting issues, and providing accessibility equipment as needed.
* Ensure a smooth and welcoming experience for school groups by confirming guest counts for payment, communicating policies to chaperones, managing belongings, and independently coordinating organized lunch rotations.

How You Will Be Making a Difference
Under the general direction of the AVP for Transitional Aged Youth Services, plan, direct, oversee and manage the operations and staff within the program(s). Maintain an up-to-date daily event log, which includes but is not limited to any requests for service, security breaches, dispatches emergencies, access events, etc.
Report any faulty equipment, or health and safety hazards immediately to the proper supervisor for correction. Address and report any condition or event deserving the attention of Protective Services team.
Receive and/or respond, coordinate and manage emergency calls and response. Dispatch emergency responses from inside responders and outside agencies as required. Act as leadership and an information resource and facilitate communication for the Protective Services team.
Oversee and keep track of all Museum staff, visitors, faculty, volunteers, contractors, consultants, ID badge holders and others as outlined by the Command Center's standard operating procedures.

Responsible for maintaining smooth operation of garage entry and exit process, providing excellent customer service with garage operational issues and taking immediate and effective action to minimize service disruptions to staff, interns, volunteers, contractors, or guests.
What You'll Accomplish
* Participates in regularly scheduled staff meetings and trainings to ensure working knowledge of the Crisis Management Plan and proficiency in all emergency procedures to effectively respond to threats to the safety and security of staff, guests, and property. Emergency incidents include but are not limited to bomb threats, fire, natural disasters, power or equipment failure, lost children, medical incidents, disorderly persons or disturbances, robbery or other violent acts, and animal escapes.
* Successfully participate in mandatory trainings including Management of Aggressive Behavior, CPR/1st Aid/AED for Adults, Children and Infants, Blood Borne Pathogens, and Crowd Manager to comply with state and federal regulations and effectively execute emergency procedures during incident response.
* Patrols Museum to ensure the safety & security of staff, volunteers, interns, guests, and property; being alert to potential threats and taking appropriate action in accordance with the Crisis Management Plan and departmental policies and procedures
* Expeditiously responds to all incidents, disturbances or requests for assistance, including but not limited to those noted above, to minimize potential threats to the safety and security of staff, volunteers, interns, guests and property. Compiles detailed incident reports to maintain documentation of incident response and outcome.
* Thoroughly documents incident response and activities using the iTrak report writing program, conducting limited investigations as needed in order to compile accurate and detailed information.
* Operates and monitors CCure 9000 & Victor Client CCTV to monitor access and security alarms to effectively respond to alarms and ensure a safe and secure environment
* Operates and monitors Skidata garage system to ensure smooth garage entry and exit process including but not limited to assisting guests at payment kiosks and entry/exit and troubleshooting hardware and software issues
* Monitors garage and driveway activity to ensure efficient entry & exit and takes appropriate action including but not limited to closing the garage to incoming traffic, working with State Police to control traffic, and assisting guests with alternate parking arrangements
* Perform other work related duties as required by Manager.
Shift Schedule: Sunday-Thursday (4pm-12am)

Responsibilities
Manage, Enhance, and Execute Staff Learning
Partner with internal constituents to continually determine needs, develop and deliver staff learning blueprints and strategy maps with initial specific priority focus on:
Network-wide continued learning and professional development for staff.
Development staff learning.

Responsible for collaborating and leading a team and content managers to execute on all aspects of the design, development and delivery of Academy in all areas outside of Program and Service.
In partnership with Director of L&D for Program and Service and other internal stakeholders, design, implement and enhance learning and development for start-up teams (i.e., Start-up academy, Regionalized Academies).
Support and provide leadership, where appropriate, on Core 4 related learning and development initiatives.
Learning Management System (LMS) Training Development
Work closely with the Vice President of L&D, to execute on delivery of and training for a new LMS system.
Manage Instructional Design Team
Lead, manage, and direct team of instructional designers towards L&D objectives on all goals and initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Training, Development, Education, or a related area. Certifications in professional L&D/Training organizations are of interest, but not required.
Minimum 3 years of experience working in area of learning, development, and training specific to a national program, service organization, the education sector, or another relevant area.
Deep experience delivering trainings.
Exceptional track record of execution and delivery of results, both as an individual contributor and as a team lead.
Experience and passion for collaboration, to identify and resolve issues and produce results.
Ability to adapt within organizational growth and change management.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with all levels of employees as well as superior facilitation skills.

Why We Need You
The Research and Science Communication Assistant (RSCA) will work closely with small teams of peers, under mentorship from Museum staff and invited external STEM experts, to engage visitors in learning about current science topics as part of their museum visit. The RSCA will complete training in science education strategies, science communication practices, and Museum evaluation methods. They will learn skills related to developing novel Museum experiences, including those needed to review and interpret information from scientific literature, translate complex science concepts into meaningful experiences for the public, and collect and analyze data from Museum visitors. The RSCA will gain practical experience in delivering engaging learning experiences for Museum visitors, by developing and prototyping educational products such as hands-on activities, exhibit components, and visitor handouts, as well as facilitating small group activities for families in the exhibit halls. This position requires a commitment of 3 days/week during summer (mid-June to late August), and 1 day/week during the academic year (September to June).
Please note: Applicants to this position must be between the ages of 14-19, and actively enrolled in high school or an equivalent program.
What You'll Accomplish
1. Develop and maintain familiarity with best practices for science education, science communication, and science research, with a focus on those that support visitors' science learning in Museums
2. Support the development of novel educational products (e.g., visitor handouts, hands-on activities, exhibit components), by reading and summarizing scientific literature, sourcing educational media, assisting in storyboarding and drafting educational content for diverse Museum audiences, and developing prototype experiences for testing
3. Contribute to the delivery of high-quality STEM learning experiences in the Museum, by facilitating activities for visitors across a range of topics (e.g. through hands-on activities, demonstrations, presentations) and providing logistical support (e.g. helping maintain exhibit spaces, documenting activities, assisting with materials management).
4. Assist in ongoing Museum evaluation projects by recruiting Museum visitors to test new educational offerings, collecting data on visitor feedback and behaviors, and discussing study methods and findings with Museum evaluators
5. Perform other work related duties as required by Manager.
