The Albrecht Music Library seeks a motivated, service-oriented student in library/information science to serve as an intern in the Music Technical Services (MTS) unit. The intern will work with MTS staff on a variety of projects focused on providing access to unprocessed gifts and "hidden" collections. Creating, verifying and enhancing records in the local catalog and in national bibliographic utilities is a core responsibility. The intern will also assist in the processing of gift collections,evaluating gifts in relation to physical condition and collection development guidelines. This is an excellent opportunity for a student to learn about technical service operations in a branch library dealing with music scores and sound recordings. The internship is for an average of 8 hours per week over 15-16 weeks for a total of 120 hours and reports to the Music Technical Services Librarian.
