Art/Music Therapist Position Summary

The Art/Music Therapist provides therapeutic therapy to adults, adolescents, and/or child patients dependent upon setting. The Art/Music Therapist works as a part of an interdisciplinary team working toward the emotional health and well-being of the population served. The Art/Music Therapist performs a full range of therapy services according to professional standards. The Art/Music Therapist communicates with patients based on an understanding of the developmental needs of the population. This position plans, organizes, and leads small groups and one to one music therapy programs for residents; uses music as a means of achieving therapeutic goals and objectives to restore, maintain, and improve mental and physical health.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy, from a school approved by the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) . Must be Board- Certified.

Experience: One year previous experience with recreation/music therapy department in health care center preferred.
