The Associate Logistics Manager is responsible and has operational oversight for the day-to-day transportation operations under the direction of the Dedicated Logistics Manager, which includes driver management, load planning, and customer service functions to ensure customer satisfaction. The operational functions include revenue generation (headhaul / backhaul), invoicing/billing, safety, equipment maintenance monitoring and driver payroll. This must be accomplished in conjunction with meeting the key performance indicators (KPI's) established by the Dedicated Logistics Manager, Operations Manager and our Customer. Responsibilities: Assigning drivers to loads by optimizing load information such as origination, destination, type of freight, number of miles, stops, directions, etc. with driver needs and availability. This is done using the AS400 computer system, Qualcomm satellite, face-to-face communication and telecommunication. Continually focus on driver training and driver retention by building and maintaining driver relationships through understanding and meeting driver needs. These needs include, but are not limited to home time, payroll, utility, equipment breakdowns, logging violations, equipment issues, etc. Responsible for account profitability and growth. Monitor drivers load assignments to achieve customer service expectations. Monitor drivers safety needs, pre-trip inspections and CSA scores to ensure safe, legal and on-time delivery of freight. Demonstrates a commitment to safety, with the support of corporate safety department, enforcing compliance with Federal, State and Organizational rules and regulations. Interface with various departments such as billing, vans, customer service, risk, safety, payroll, and fuel. As a Dedicated Truck Driver for this fleet, you will deliver retail goods from a distribution center to individual stores within the Ohio, Indiana and Michigan areas. The freight from the distribution center to the stores are all drop and hook. Deliveries are mostly Sunday through Friday. You will head home Friday late morning. Home time is 34-48 hours. Pay is a combination of pick-ups and drops, mileage pay, and there is the opportunity to earn performance and quarterly safety bonuses. The Safety Specialist conducts all safety functions to ensure compliance with Company, Federal, State, and local regulations. This role is dedicated to addressing driver safety needs efficiently and professionally. Safety Specialists are responsible for conducting all safety-related functions in compliance with Company, Federal, State, and local regulations. This includes training, driver evaluations, accident reviews, and providing 24-hour on-call support as needed. Essential Job Functions Conduct all Safety Department training courses, including simulator training. Perform essential safety functions, such as accident reviews, annual reviews, remedial log training, and simulator sessions. Administer drug and Breath Alcohol Tests (BAT). Provide 24-hour on-call support as assigned by the Terminal Manager. Counsel drivers regarding DOT and company policy violations. Conduct road tests and evaluations to ensure driver compliance with company policies and DOT regulations. Perform pre-trip inspections and other related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong understanding of safety procedures, federal regulations, and company policies. Proficient in Microsoft Office, AS-400, and CBT systems.
