My Community Dental Centers CEO and leadership

Dr. Brown joined MCDC as Chief Executive Officer in August 2018 with an extensive executive background in oral health, non-profit management, and Medicaid, as well as Medicare health insurance programs. She earned her Bachelor of Arts and Doctor of Dental Medicine degrees from Rutgers University School of Medicine, as well as a Masters of Healthcare Administration from Seton Hall University. She is board certified in Healthcare Administration with the American College of Healthcare Executives and in Healthcare Compliance with the Compliance Certification Board.

In addition, Dr. Brown is a member of the Medicaid Medicare CHIP Services Dental Association. She served as Senior Director for Dental Services for WellCare Health Plans, a company that specializes exclusively in providing government-sponsored managed care services. She also served as the Chief Dental Officer for Dental Health Associates in Phillipsburg, NJ and was Dental Director of the Ocean Health Initiatives, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), in Lakewood, NJ.

Curt joined MCDC as Chief Operations Officer in February 2019 with an extensive background in both privately held and private equity-backed dental organizations. With over 20 years of proven leadership in multi-unit management, he has served these organizations in all levels of management including Regional Manager, Director of Operations and COO. He is a leader who is passionate about developing high-performance teams while serving our most vulnerable population.

Kim joined My Community Dental Centers in May 2012 as Chief of Community and Governmental Affairs where she works to enhance relationships between MCDC, current and future community partners, and the State of Michigan. She has over 25 years of leadership experience in local public health, having served as the Health Officer for the Mid-Michigan District Health Department, which includes the counties of Clinton, Gratiot, and Montcalm.

Kim holds a Master’s Degree in Health Education and Health Science from Ball State University, a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and Health Education from Central Michigan University, and is a Certified Health Education Specialist. In addition, she is a graduate of the Michigan Public Health Leadership Institute and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Leadership Institute. Kim received the Michigan Dental Association;s Public Service Award in 2002. In 2006 she received the Michigan Department of Community Health Special Director’s award. Rob Kowalski is a Chief Human Resources Officer at My Community Dental Centers and is based in Birmingham, Michigan. He has worked as VP, Human Resources at O/E Systems, Inc.; Senior Benefit Analyst at Conduent HR Services; and Sr. Director, Human Resources at R L POLK & CO. Rob attended Michigan State University between 1984 and 1987 and Wayne State University between 1992 and 1994.

Keith Sherwood is a CFO at My Community Dental Centers and is based in Charlevoix, Michigan. He has worked as Director of Breton Health Center at MetroHealth System The, CEO/CFO at Community Care Plan, and Accounting Manager at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. Keith attended Walsh College between 1980 and 1982 and Walsh College between 1987 and 1989.
