The Payroll Manager oversees all departmental activities, tax reporting, and payroll system maintenance. Essential Functions * Maintain, direct, and calculate the entry of data to verify the accuracy of the weekly payroll run * Ensure accuracy and timely completion of payroll records * Review and improve payroll procedures * Create and review audit reports * Ensure payroll is processed in an accurate, compliant, and timely manner * Direct the preparation of payroll related documents * Ensure all payroll information and records are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements * Oversee compliance with statutory reporting and filing requirements * Interpret new legislation impacting payroll * Prepare relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports * Prepare and review payroll account reconciliations * Ensure reconciliation, review, and processing of annual W2s and annual Canadian T4s * Support all internal and external audits * Manage and resolve issues relating to payroll * Manage payroll workload to meet operational requirements * Manage daily functions of assigned staff * Ensure the continued growth of payroll employees to support succession planning * Lead, direct and audit the work of assigned staff * Coordinate employee performance reviews * Other duties as assigned * Essential functions of this position are to be performed in a Company-designated office or field location * Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy and other industry-specific professional and ethical standards ABOUT YOU Qualifications * Minimum 5 - 7 years of progressively-responsible payroll experience * Minimum 5 years of experience with internally-processed payroll * Minimum 5 years of managerial/supervisory experience * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or related field; combination of relevant education and experience considered in lieu of degree * Certified Payroll Professional designation preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities * Working knowledge of accounting principles and practices * In-depth knowledge and experience with payroll calculation and processing * Solid knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal rules and laws * Solid financial acumen * Advanced proficiency in relevant accounting and payroll software applications * Attention to detail and accuracy * Excellent written and oral communication skills * Good problem solving skills * Strong strategic delegation skills * Knowledge of Canadian payroll and regulations is a plus WHAT WE OFFER * Salary $90,000-$122,000/year * Commensurate with experience, paid weekly.
