Grade level eligibility and salaries vary depending upon background, including experience and education, and duty location of the opportunity. This is a career ladder position with a grade level progression of GS-5, GS-7, GS-9, GS-11, and GS-12. You will be eligible for a promotion to the next higher grade level (without re-applying) once you successfully complete 52 weeks in each grade level. Promotions are at the discretion of the agency.

Qualifications:
You qualify for the GS-9 grade level in one of the following ways: experience, education, or a combination of both.
Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level that includes:
Detaining suspected violators of federal, state, or local laws and/or arresting violators using the proper law enforcement methods.
Enforcing the laws and regulations relating to importing, exporting, and/or international shipping to and from the United States.
Utilizing intelligence techniques and behavior analysis to identify potential threats and perform risk assessments for violations of laws and threats to national security.
Conducting interviews in a law enforcement capacity for the purposes of gaining information from suspected violators of laws to determine the appropriate course of action.
The above experience will be applied in connection with the following: Ability to make rapid, accurate judgments and decisions with respect to the application of the regulations, instructions, and procedures for importing and exporting merchandise to and from the United States; or enforcement and administration of laws relating to the right of persons to enter, reside in or depart from the United States, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Education Substitution: A master's (or higher) degree, or two or more years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or an LL.B. or J.D. from an accredited college or university; OR
Combination of Experience and Education: A combination of specialized experience AND successfully completed graduate-level education. This will be calculated using your resume and official or unofficial transcripts submitted with your application.

This training consists of basic law enforcement skills, immigration laws, firearms training, examination of cargo/bags/merchandise, physical fitness, etc. Candidates assigned to the southern border, Miami, or Puerto Rico duty locations must attend and pass an online Spanish training program, which will be completed at their home port. The Gunsmith II must be able to fabricate special jigs, fixtures, and other tooling with some supervision, read and interpret blueprint drawings, and work from those drawings accurately.
This position may also serve as a primary instructor on standard and non-standard small arms weapons systems, assist in conducting Armorer's courses, and support inspection teams or military personnel as required. Must know and continue to study all of the information in the Table Games Supervisor Manual.
Must know all of the reasons a supervisor would need to complete a SARC.
Must have complete knowledge of the Title 31 program, such as completing a SARC, making an entry on the MTL, running a TIN check, and completing a CTRC.
Must be able to complete a jackpot and complete all necessary paperwork.
Must be efficient in a busy pit, keeping up with player ratings, floor calls, fills, and credits.
Must be able to handle and correct all floor calls.
Complete knowledge of the dealer rotation, and efficiency changing it when needed.
Must be organized and prepared.
Must be honest, fair, and professional when handling floor calls and dealer issues.
Must know basic strategy and be able to count down a deck.
Must be able to recognize card counters and advantage players.
Must be able to recognize when a player has been over served and have the ability to end their drink service.
Must have the ability to recognize table needs and staffing levels. Ability to understand when we should open more tables or close tables down.
Must be able to change and adjust employee schedules as needed.
Must be able to pass a basic strategy Blackjack test with 95% or better accuracy.
Must be able to pass a basic strategy test for all pit games with 85% or better accuracy.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Must have a minimum of one (1) year experience as a Tier I supervisor and three (3) years in the Table Games department.
Experience in the Table games department needs to be within the prior five (5) years, or have five (5) years of Table Games experience within the prior eight (8) years.
Table Games supervision at another casino may qualify to start as a Tier II supervisor and is at the discretion of the Table Games Manager.

COMPUTER OPERATIONS
Intermediate personal computer skills, including electronic mail, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to operate standard office equipment (copier, fax, etc.).
Must be able to work with American Indian people and be sensitive to their culture.
Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
Participate in proactive team efforts of Bear River Casino Resort.
Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays & special events as needed.
Ability to see color and hear in a loud environment.
Ability to work late with mental clarity.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
