Purpose of Job This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of finance and financial planning and analysis (FP&A) for Nippon Seiki North America (NSNA), including accounting, financial reporting, treasury, forecasting, and budgeting. The role leads the development of NSNA's annual budget and supports the creation of strategic roadmaps to meet financial targets. It provides forecasting to identify gaps between actuals and targets, enabling the executive team to develop effective recovery plans. Additionally, it analyzes monthly performance against plan, identifies issues, and supports problem-solving and process improvement initiatives at both the entity and consolidated NSNA levels. This position also leads finance teams across all NSNA locations, ensuring the implementation of effective internal controls and compliance with applicable federal, state, and local financial and tax regulations. It is responsible for the design and development of procedures and policies related to the cost accounting system. Furthermore, the role supervises, mentors, and develops the Accounting, Finance, Costing, and FP&A teams. This includes managing work allocation, providing systems training, conducting performance evaluations, setting annual objectives aligned with company goals, and fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment. This position reports directly to the NSNA Senior Director of Finance, Business Planning, and Business Quality Management. Major Duties/Responsibilities Budget / Business Planning: Facilitate/lead in the development of the NSNA corporate budget. Evaluate and provide guidance on the financial impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory changes. Build credibility for the Finance team by delivering timely, accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports, and trends to support the NSNA President and senior leadership in decision-making. Create, establish and track annual objectives that align with the NSNA's business plan. Budget Monitoring, Forecasting and Performance Analysis: Oversee the ongoing monitoring of NSNA's budget, actual performance, and forecasts throughout the fiscal year. Assess and evaluate financial performance, identifying variances and risks. Deliver comprehensive reports, insights, and projections to the management team in a timely manner. Support issue resolution and drive continuous improvement in financial processes and reporting. Communication: Actively engage with the NSNA Executive Management team and Nippon Seiki Headquarters (NSHQ). Participate in leadership meetings, discussions, and decision-making processes. Provide consistent communication, daily, weekly, and monthly as needed on key developments within the Accounting, Finance, and FP&A teams. Establish and communicate annual financial objectives, ensuring alignment across the Accounting, Finance, and FP&A teams with NSNA's overall business strategy. Team Leadership and Development: Directly supervise Finance and Accounting Senior Managers and provide indirect oversight of all Accounting, Finance, and FP&A personnel across NSNA group companies. Lead recruitment, development, and performance management of Accounting and Finance staff, fostering both professional and personal growth opportunities. Continuously evaluate the Finance division's structure and team strategy to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with organizational goals. Strengthen and enforce financial policies and procedures through systems and practices that improve overall operational performance and corporate effectiveness. Process Improvement & Policy Implementation: Lead continuous improvement initiatives for budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes by educating department managers on financial factors impacting their budgets. Establish credibility across the organization as a proactive problem-solver and developer of effective business solutions. Implement effective financial policies, procedures, and processes in alignment with the senior leadership team. Execute, monitor, and report on the status of projects assigned by the NSNA Senior Director of Finance, Business Planning, and Business Quality Management. Costing and Transfer Price Management: Lead the Advanced Pricing Agreement (APA) scheme working with Nippon Seiki Headquarters (NSHQ), keep monitoring the operating profit of each NSNA group company and make transfer pricing adjustments as needed. Support lifetime costing activities in accordance with NSHQ methodologies. Drive the redesign and development of the overall costing and transfer pricing framework, working cross-functionally with both NSNA departments and NSHQ. Collaborate with the Business Development team to develop program-based profitability analysis and improve the accuracy of actual program-level cost tracking. Generate and provide costing data as required by NSHQ. Education, Experience and Knowledge Required and/or preferred level of education, knowledge and skills that are necessary. Education Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA preferred CPA preferred Related Experience Experience demonstrating effective leadership, directly or in-directly, for multi- disciplinary teams is required. 10+ years experience in accounting and FP&A or related finance roles at a tier one automotive supplier 10+ years experience in a management or supervision role. 5+ years of finance experience within manufacturing Experience using Plex or another ERP system Experience with an global organization, Japanese and/or Mexico experience preferred Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and Power Point.
