Essential Responsibilities: Greet and assist patients, visitors, and staff with professionalism and courtesy. Answer phones promptly, direct calls appropriately, and always identify yourself when answering. Coordinate the admissions process to ensure timely and efficient patient flow. Assist patients and families with navigating services, including arranging escorts. Address and de-escalate difficult situations calmly and effectively. Communicate and collaborate with internal departments to enhance the patient experience. Support weekend departmental coverage, including during staff breaks or absences. Maintain a clean and organized admissions area. Demonstrate a consistent commitment to customer service excellence. Perform additional duties as assigned to support the hospital's mission and operations. Qualifications Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT) to perform routine and complex laboratory tests in various areas including hematology, chemistry, microbiology, immunology, and blood banking. This role ensures accurate test results to support clinical decisions and enhance patient care. Key Responsibilities Perform clinical laboratory tests following established procedures and policies. Analyze body fluids, tissues, and other specimens using microscopes or automated equipment. Ensure proper sample collection, labeling, and processing. Maintain accurate records and enter test results into the Laboratory Information System (LIS). Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments. Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities. Follow all safety, infection control, and regulatory guidelines. Communicate test results and any critical findings promptly to healthcare providers. Assist with training new staff or students as needed (especially for MTs). Qualifications MLT: Associate's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or related field. Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (ASCP or equivalent). MT: Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field. Certification as a Medical Technologist (ASCP or equivalent). Both: Knowledge of laboratory testing methods and instrumentation. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently. Familiarity with regulatory standards (e.g., CLIA, CAP, OSHA). Excellent communication and organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in a clinical laboratory setting. Proficiency with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS). Flexibility to work different shifts, weekends, or holidays as needed. Physical Requirements Ability to stand or sit for extended periods. Manual dexterity and visual acuity for lab work. May require lifting specimens or supplies up to 25 lbs.
