In 1947, Harvey began working for H. Zussman & Son, a dry goods wholesaler which then branched out into clothing manufacturing.
In 1966 three seasoned brokers and entrepreneurs decided to open their own doors as Longson, Tammets, and Denton Realty.
Emory Hill Real Estate Services, Inc. was founded in 1983 to independently handle property management , maintenance and brokerage services . Today, this division manages our portfolio of over five million square feet, as well as commercial and industrial properties for other investors.
In 1986, Earle Furman, Jr. left the Furman Co. to start a new commercial real estate company that would specialize in industrial real estate.
In 1990, Harvey became active in the commercial real estate industry pursuing the construction and development of office, retail, multi-family, commercial, industrial, and mixed-use properties.
In 1996, the company grew further to include 14 brokers, several partners and 10 support staff.
In 1997, they expanded to include a Property Management Division.
The firm was founded in 2001 by seasoned real estate professionals with expertise in all aspects of commercial real estate services including property management, project leasing, brokerage, development. and construction management.
The company grew to a staff of thirty in 2003 and relocated to their current location at 101 East Washington Street in downtown Greenville.
In 2004, the company was named the top ranked commercial real estate company in the Upstate by GSA Business, a recognition they have since received every year.
In 2006, Earle Furman and his employees celebrated their twenty year milestone of providing commercial real estate services to Upstate, South Carolina.
Then in April of 2008, Emory Hill Residential Real Estate was formed, establishing the Emory Hill companies as Delaware’s only completely full service real estate company.
In 2011, the firm celebrated its silver anniversary marking twenty five years in business and a continued commitment to the Upstate.
In 2011, Emory Hill Residential merged with Millman West and became Emory Hill Residential/Millman West.
Emory Hill expanded once again to open a new office in Lewes, Delaware in 2012 to better serve Sussex County and southern Delaware.
Until 2016, they were still exceeding the appreciation rates of secondary markets, but then secondary markets surpassed them in the second half of 2016 and continue to outpace primary markets.
