Flexible remote work, depending on your position.
Open racism. Teri Lema, senior member of HR, told me they were racist. Geri, head of HR, scheduled a meeting specifically to ask me for permission not to use my correct pronouns. Jason Sharpe, CEO, is aware of the fact that company employees will openly say the word "negro" in my presence but will not take any action to end it. In fact, CEO Jason Sharpe claims to "understand the minority experience" because he took a trip to South Africa in the 90s. This company is a shining example of how rich, influential white people get together in leadership roles and convince themselves they are conducting themselves respectfully, despite constant feedback that this is not the case. I would not wish this job on any person that belongs to a minorities group.
Quitting and filing a complaint with Colorado Civil Rights Division.
The CEO and Executive teams are openly racist.
A third party audit for civil rights compliance
I filled out the application on their website and read their coop information. I also read their B Corp review status.
It is below average - the company expects work that far exceeds the job role.
At the time I worked here, only four of the 223 employees identified as black. HR, specifically Geri, advised against me starting an employee resource group for black employees, as she claimed the scheduling wouldn't be possible across departments. Justin Catlett was allowed to openly ask me about "house negroes," even using that phrase towards me, with no formal reprimand or repercussions. Teri Lema, senior member of HR, not only told me that she was racist, bit made it clear that a long time Nepalese employee was not eligible for a promotion because of his accent.
Feeling assured that my coworkers are capable of treating me like a human being and not a representative of the black race.
