The Remote SecurityOfficer provides services for a variety of large and small business clients in remote settings where health, safety and security is our #1 priority. All duties are to be performed in accordance with NMS' mission, vision, and values.
Responsibilities
* Personally monitors and patrols either visually or electronically a variety of assigned buildings, areas, or grounds.
* Permits only properly authorized individuals to enter the property.
* Patrols premises and examines doors, windows, and gates to determine they are secure.
* Records data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, etc.
* Warns violators of rule infractions and may apprehend or expel violators.
* Notifies on-site individuals of visitors wishing to see them.
* Assists in properly responding to a variety of emergencies or disasters in order to preserve life and property.
* Operates camp billeting and access control systems and maintains a list of visitors or authorized companies/personnel who are allowed access to various areas.
* May check heating, lighting, sprinkling, security, ventilation, fire, etc., systems to make sure they are operational.
* Provides transportation services using a variety of vehicles ranging from standard passenger vehicles to large passenger buses and off-road vehicles.
* Provides emergency medical intervention including CPR, AED, and patient movement.
* Notify supervisor if safety and sanitation standards are not being met.
* Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit's success also may be assigned.
* This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
* High school diploma or GED equivalent.
* Must have at least one (1) year of full-time professional security, law enforcement or military experience.
* Post-secondary education in a related field may be substituted for experience.
* A valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under NMS' vehicle insurance policy.
* Must be able to obtain and pay the Alaska Guard License fee of $97.00 prior to beginning work.
* Must have basic computer skills to include but not limited to Microsoft office and contract specific software.
* Must pass all pre-employment contract requirements which may include but are not limited to: hair follicle drug test, physical and fit for duty assessment and hearing test. Applicants not located near a testing facility are responsible for paying for travel to the nearest testing facility.
* Must be able to live in dormitory style settings and meet cleanliness requirements of the remote camp.
* Must be able to cooperate and work as part of a team with fellow employees, customers and clients.
* Must be able to make decisions in the moment with little to no supervision.
* Must be able to be on your feet for 12 hours per shift for the scheduled rotation.

CANDIDATES RESIDING OUTSIDE ANCHORAGE AREA:
Candidates residing in the Lower 48 for any contract and/or hired for the BP contract: For the purposes of pre-employment testing, Anchorage will be considered the point of hire (with the exception of drug testing, which will be conducted near the candidate's place of residence). Employee is responsible for any travel expenses and needed accommodations related to pre−employment tasks that need to be completed in Anchorage, AK. This includes, but is not limited to, any safety training requirements, required pre−employment testing and/or training such as physical, DOT physical/medical card, fit for duty, audiogram, and/or other testing required by contract/company (such as NSTC, APICC training, security licensing requirements, etc.
Candidates residing in Alaska for Alyeska and Hillcorp contracts: pre-employment testing will be scheduled near the candidate's area of residence within the state. The only exception is when the candidate lives in a region without the necessary service providers to complete all requirements.
Flights to Remote Locations: All employees are responsible for all expenses related to reporting to point of hire (Anchorage, AK) for scheduled trips paid for by the company for remote locations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Keep supervisors and managers informed of unusual occurrences and important events as detailed in post orders, rules, regulations, guidelines, and protocols.
• Monitor alarms, radio traffic and other information sources. Dispatch or inform others as needed and authorized.
• Report and appropriately address fire alarms, burglary alarms, requests for assistance and criminal acts; including but not limited to: vandalism, theft, illegal entry or attempted entry, suspicious behavior, domestic or workplace violence, threats, speed or other vehicle violations, illegal drug use, inappropriate use of facility or client equipment or property.
• Stop, screen, inquire, and inspect vehicles and pedestrians entering and / or exiting the facility as directed by post orders, rules, regulations, guidelines, and protocols.
• Prevent passage of prohibited articles onto or from client facility.
• Escort individuals or vehicles in accordance with post orders, rules, regulations, guidelines and protocols.
• Use portable radios, phones, or other communication devises appropriately and according to established rules.
• Monitor all APSI and client equipment; guard against loss or damage; report any such loss or damage immediately to a supervisor or manager.
• Log in Property Pass numbers for authorized property/equipment movements.
• Ensure the security of government property, detaining personnel, and reporting anyone involved with unauthorized property/equipment removal.
• Conduct regular patrols and inspections of buildings and facilities
• Issue required vehicle passes to authorize personnel.
• Monitor electronic access control and report violations
• Monitor radio-frequency identification (RFID) systems and respond to alarms indicating unauthorized removal of government property.
• Grant access to areas during non-working hours to authorized personnel in accordance with the established procedure and access lists.
• Monitor facility equipment and utility systems and report deficiencies to personnel responsible for repairs.
• Perform random surveillance of buildings for the detection of unauthorized or inappropriate activity.
• Perform random surveillance of fence line for breaches and the detection of unauthorized removal of government property, illegal or inappropriate activity.
• Provide additional security support for scheduled events that may occur during or after duty hours or for unscheduled emergencies as requested by supervisor
• Maintain activity logs and administrative documents as required by contract.
• Contact, assist, and cooperate with local, state, or federal law enforcement; locate, retain, and protect necessary evidence; testify as necessary in judicial and administrative proceedings.
• Other duties as assigned.
Access to government facilities/installations specific to this position is a mandatory requirement to fulfill the minimum qualifications for this position. Minimum Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of security/civilian law enforcement experience OR an equivalent position with the United States Armed Forces (military).
b. One year of work experience demonstrating the ability to follow directions, meet attendance requirements and the ability to complete the training necessary to certify with the State.
Language: Must be fluent in speaking and writing in English.
Pre-Hire Screening: Must be able to pass criminal background screen, drug test and physical exam.
Certifications: Applicants must have a state-issued Guard card before being hired.
Preferred Qualifications
1. First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
2. Prior experience with the Glock platform is preferred.

Qualifications and Requirements:
* Must be a current or retired Law Enforcement Officer with at least 10 years of experience, contingent on state requirement standards.
* This is a standing post. Must have the ability to stand and maintain a post for 8 hours or longer.
* Business professional attire is required. This position will be posted in a business professional setting.
* Flexible schedule required; weekend availability for events is essential.
* Must have valid, up-to-date identification for I-9 form upon completion.
* Strong communication skills and professional demeanor.
* I am willing to undergo Metro One's pre-employment screening and meet all applicable State, County, and Municipal armed officer requirements.
