Nanophase Technologies CEO and leadership

I am fortunate to be President & CEO of NTC, and Solésence, two outstanding organizations. Both companies operate in the healthcare space as either FDA-regulated developers and manufacturers of active ingredients, or prestige finished products for protection against skin damage.

While NTC has commercialized many advanced materials solutions in many markets, our passion is in protecting people from various forms of sun-induced skin damage and consequential long-term health effects through the development and commercialization of unique OTC pharmaceutical actives.



In 2016, NTC created Solésence as a wholly owned subsidiary. Solésence is a developer and manufacturer of finished beauty products marketed through our customers’ brands. All products feature the company's patented Active Defense Technology, providing comprehensive protection against skin damage due to UV and air pollution, as well as boosting the effectiveness of antioxidants.

I helped take NTC public via IPO in 1997, then served as CFO from 1999 to 2009, and CEO since 2009. NTC has had several significant strategic partnerships with leaders in their fields such as Altana Chemie, BASF, C.I.K Nanotek (a division of Itochu Trading Company), Dow (formerly Rohm & Haas), and Sumitomo Corporation of America, which have allowed access to worldwide distribution channels. During my tenure, I have been instrumental in raising approximately $90million in capital through venture, public, strategic and private funding vehicles.

I hold a B.S. from Northern Illinois University, an M.B.A. from Loyola University of Chicago, and am a regular participant in the Kellogg Corporate Governance Conference.

Competencies in business strategy, executive leadership, product and business development, financial strategy, capital raising, and interpersonal relations at all levels. I particularly enjoy partnering with Millenials!

In addition to serving on the board of directors of Nanophase, Mr. Jankowski I have served on a series of commercially-focused and non-profit boards.

I am an active member of the Economic Club of Chicago.
