Job Summary
NOC is looking for an individual who is passionate about selling outdoor adventure experiences to groups and guests! In this position, you will be responsible for booking, managing, and growing NOC's group accounts and reservations year-round. You will work directly with group leaders (churches, camps, Boy Scouts/Girl Scouts, universities, schools, friends, families, corporate groups, and more) to help them identify which NOC activities and amenities best fit their needs. From first contact through trip follow-up, you'll own the full sales cycle and deliver a high-touch experience that drives both outstanding group experiences and strong repeat visitation.
Position Details
This is a full-time, year-round position reporting to the Group Sales Manager. Compensation includes an hourly base plus commission on both new and existing group accounts. Typical schedule is Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week, with some evening and weekend work required based on group needs and event schedules.

Generate sales for all NOC properties, assets, attractions, and activities-meeting or exceeding assigned sales budgets-by booking, managing, and growing NOC's Group and Custom accounts and reservations year-round

Qualifications
Required
Familiarity with outdoor recreation, travel, tourism, hospitality, and/or experience-based products

Our French Broad Outpost, located in Marshall, NC is looking to hire a Bus Driver to safely transport our guests to and from the river. This job is not your traditional driving position. Enjoy mountain and river views and the excitement of our guests as they get prepared to experience the French Broad River. Bus Drivers must possess a Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with Passenger and Airbrake endorsements. Current CPR and First Aid certifications are preferred but not required. Due to the nature of this position, we are looking for both part-time and full-time drivers to join us for the season.
The season is from March to October each year. You do not have to be available the entire season to be considered but it is preferred.
Responsibilities
Transport guests and guides to and/or from river, adhering to all NOC, DOT, state and OSHA laws, policies and regulations
Provide top-notch guest service to all guests, before, after, and during their trip, including answering questions about trip specifics and local information
Daily and pre-trip bus inspections, documenting all inspections and reporting any issues to management
In some cases, responsible for loading, unloading, and securing rafts, kayaks, or other equipment on bus-tops, as qualified

JOB SUMMARY
NOC Bike Guides will assist guests in fitting for proper bike & helmet size. Applicants who are 21 and up will be eligible to train as a shuttle driver. NOC Bike Guides will review basic mountain biking techniques with guests in our skills park and answer any guest questions and provide necessary feedback for a great guest experience. With guided and unguided biking trips, no two days will feel the same. Operating at the base of our 5-mile Flint Ridge Trail system, Guides help describe trail conditions, provide maps for guests, and complete necessary trail maintenance as needed. Responsibilities
Fit guests with proper size bikes and helmets
Educate guests on bike usage and techniques
Inform guests on trail location, conditions, and hazards
Lead guided bike trips as necessary
Assisting guests with technical questions regarding the appropriate bike, equipment, gear and fit
Promote the adventures that NOC has to offer, and providing local area information, especially local trails and directions

Hosts for the Nantahala Outdoor Center work primarily in River's End Restaurant with the opportunity to work at a variety of food and beverage outlets around our Flagship Campus as well. NOC Instructors primarily instruct on Fontana Lake and local whitewater runs in the Southeast. Instructors may also have the opportunity to specialize in more advanced playboating or creekboating instruction and can also cross-train as SUP Instructors, Swiftwater Rescue Instructors and River Guides.
This position is classified as seasonal and reports to the Manager of the Paddling School. NOC is looking for Kayak and Canoe Instructors that are available to start in May. Ideal applicants will be available for a minimum of 4 months. Instructors must possess current WFA and CPR certifications. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, however preference will be given to applicants over 21 years of age due to insurance reasons regarding driving vehicles for NOC.
Responsibilities
Teach whitewater kayaking and canoeing skills to groups of varying experience, age and number
Create and modify lesson plans and logistics to accommodate the needs and abilities of students
Transport guests to and from lakes and rivers in NOC vehicles (including 15-passenger vans and towing trailers) while adhering to all NOC and state laws, regulations, and policies
Communicate with guests about local area information, other NOC activities and offerings, river and trip information, and provide general entertainment.
Provide top-notch guest service to all guests, before, after, and during their instruction
Clean and organize all gear used during the day, including, but not limited to: loading and unloading boats, washing all gear, and inspecting, fueling and cleaning vehicles
Other tasks, such as: driving shuttle, repair and maintenance of gear or facilities, greeting guests at check-in, and assisting other NOC departments, as qualified and as assigned

JOB SUMMARY
The General Store Manager is actively involved with NOC's guest experience and is oftentimes, the first point of contact for many of our on-site guests. This position is a guest facing position and focuses on delivering exceptional guest service while answering questions and assisting with lodging check-in and General Store purchases. In addition, all General Store Associates must be proactive in helping our guests and are also expected to help stock product and ensure a clean and safe work environment.
This position is classified as Full Time Year-Round. Hours will vary week to week based on business demands, but on average this position will receive 40 hours/week. Anticipated start date for this position is early March 2026.
Responsibilities
Ensure extraordinary guest service with enthusiasm and attention to detail by politely greeting and proactively assisting all NOC guests
Responsible for hiring, training, and scheduling store staff
Offer accurate product information and make product suggestions to guests based on individual guest needs
Process Point of Sale (POS) transactions accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with established NOC policies and procedures.
Create Purchase Orders for vendors and input into the POS.
Maintain store visual appearance by keeping store and food preparation area stocked and clean; replenish as needed and training staff to do so.
Answer phones and check voicemails daily and respond to guests promptly
Run reports and reconcile bank at end of day for both the General Store and lodging. Train staff on proper checkouts at end of day
Assist guests with lodging information and book reservations including, but not limited to, assigning room keys and assembling lodging packets

Job Summary
Aerial Guides work in multiple adventure activities which include our zip line adventure park, mountaintop zip line, team building challenge course, treetop adventure nets and our alpine tower. Our French Broad Outpost, located in Marshall, NC is looking to hire a Bus Driver to safely transport our guests to and from the river. This job is not your traditional driving position. Bus Drivers must possess a Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with Passenger and Airbrake endorsements. Current CPR and First Aid certifications are preferred but not required. Due to the nature of this position, we are looking for both part-time and full-time drivers to join us for the season.
The season is from March to October each year. You do not have to be available the entire season to be considered but it is preferred.
Responsibilities
Transport guests and guides to and/or from river, adhering to all NOC, DOT, state and OSHA laws, policies and regulations
Provide top-notch guest service to all guests, before, after, and during their trip, including answering questions about trip specifics and local information
Daily and pre-trip bus inspections, documenting all inspections and reporting any issues to management
In some cases, responsible for loading, unloading, and securing rafts, kayaks, or other equipment on bus-tops, as qualified

JOB SUMMARY
The International Experience Coordinator is a seasonal HR role supporting both staff housing and NOC's international J-1 student community. This position ensures housing remains safe and well-maintained while also serving as a key point of connection for students navigating daily life in a new country. From coordinating transportation to essential services to helping them explore the culture and beauty of the region (hiking and biking on local trails, rafting, visiting local attractions like the Biltmore, etc.), you'll help create a supportive, engaging, and memorable experience for every student.

Coordinate times to take J1 students into town as needed
Drive students to the necessary places whether it is wants or needs
Plan trips and experiences in the surrounding areas with the J1 students
Maintain a reasonable timeframe for how long the J1 students are gone off site
Pick up and drop off J1 students at the airport upon arrival and departure into the country
Communicate and address housing issues that include but are not limited to: lockouts, small maintenance requests, inventory of supplies
Coordinate and help with move ins and check outs for staff

NOC Instructors primarily instruct on Fontana Lake and local whitewater runs in the Southeast. Instructors may also have the opportunity to specialize in more advanced playboating or creekboating instruction and can also cross-train as SUP Instructors, Swiftwater Rescue Instructors and River Guides.
This position is classified as seasonal and reports to the Manager of the Paddling School. NOC is looking for Kayak and Canoe Instructors that are available to start in May. Ideal applicants will be available for a minimum of 4 months. Instructors must possess current WFA and CPR certifications. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, however preference will be given to applicants over 21 years of age due to insurance reasons regarding driving vehicles for NOC.
Responsibilities
Teach whitewater kayaking and canoeing skills to groups of varying experience, age and number
Create and modify lesson plans and logistics to accommodate the needs and abilities of students
Transport guests to and from lakes and rivers in NOC vehicles (including 15-passenger vans and towing trailers) while adhering to all NOC and state laws, regulations, and policies
Communicate with guests about local area information, other NOC activities and offerings, river and trip information, and provide general entertainment.
Provide top-notch guest service to all guests, before, after, and during their instruction
Clean and organize all gear used during the day, including, but not limited to: loading and unloading boats, washing all gear, and inspecting, fueling and cleaning vehicles
Other tasks, such as: driving shuttle, repair and maintenance of gear or facilities, greeting guests at check-in, and assisting other NOC departments, as qualified and as assigned

Willing to chaperon overnight on occasion for our kid's camps

ACA Level 4 Whitewater Instructor certification
Current Wilderness First Aid (WFA) and CPR
Valid drivers license and good driving record

Extensive whitewater experience

Job Summary
Raft guides are responsible for providing an enjoyable experience for our guests via trips down our rivers. Raft guides will need to have the technical knowledge to navigate the river but also have the personality to engage the guests in a professional and enjoyable manner. This position is physically demanding. This is a seasonal position that operates from March 2026 to end of October 2026 with our peak demand being between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
