Job Responsibilities:
* Diagnose and repair to specifications - brake and hydraulic, exhaust, primary and/or advanced fuel ignition and electrical, suspension and alignment, air conditioning and computer systems.
* Adequate explain technical diagnosis and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals which may include employees and customers as required.
* Continuously update technical skills and techniques in formal training sessions to stay abreast with rapidly changing automotive technology.
* Keep store management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur.
* Maintains an organized and neat service bay
Job Requirements:
* Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Journeyman Technician required.
* Ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is process-driven
* Willingness to undergo a background check in accordance with local law/regulations
* 18+ years of age or older to comply with the company driving policy

About The Role:
The General ServiceTechnician role is full time or part-time and is an hourly position based on needs of the business. The General ServiceTechnician is responsible for performing basic routine vehicle repair and maintenance services in accordance with company standards and manufacturer specifications. This position is expected to deliver exceptional 5 Star service to our guests, through effective communication of vehicle issues and proposed solutions while ensuring that guest expectations for time commitments and quality are consistently met.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
Accurately perform basic vehicle services and repairs effectively and efficiently in accordance with Monro standards of operation.
Tire Services - perform wheel removal, balancing, patch/plug repairs, changing, mounting, installation and TPMS service and repair.
Vehicle Services - perform lubrications, oil changes, basic maintenance (e.g.: bulb, wiper blade and filter replacements, etc.), battery testing and installations.
Consistently complete Monro's Courtesy Inspection process, on every guest vehicle, identifying, documenting, and communicating additional needed services and repairs.
Assist in inventory management to include pulling tires and parts, unloading and stocking inventory.
Assist with all general store duties, ensuring the store is in excellent condition and maintained to Monro standards for cleanliness and consistently in guest ready condition.
Consistently perform service(s) in accordance with Monro's safety standards including but not limited to Monro's Wheel Torque, Oil safety and compliance procedures.
Test drive vehicles in accordance with Monro's Road Test policy, including consistently utilizing our dedicated test drive routes, while observing all local traffic and safety laws.
Understand and adhere to company policies and procedures, Governmental standards including environmental codes and ANSI/OSHA standards. Consistent use of all required safety standards set forth in training and policies and procedures.
Maintain technical knowledge and capabilities to ensure proficiency through the timely completion of all required Monro University training courses and modules.
Operate, utilize, and maintain all equipment in a safe manner in accordance with Monro and equipment manufacturer guidelines including but not limited to lifts, welders, brake lathes, etc.
Perform other duties as assigned and required.
Compensation: The hourly range for this role is $15 - $17 This role is eligible for additional compensation and incentives. Pay will be determined based on experience level.

High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Automotive training including basic car maintenance and repair or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must possess a current valid driver's license and have a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) and have the ability to operate customer's vehicles to conduct test drives.

Job Description
At Monro or General Service Tech as we call it, is an entry level Automotive Technician position and a great way to start your career at Monro. Starting day 1 you will begin a comprehensive mechanic training program, covering all aspects of your new role. As a General ServiceTechnician, you will be an essential team member, performing maintenance services on Guest vehicles. More importantly, you will be part of a team working together to deliver 5 Star Guest experiences, while using your technician skills to take care of people, their cars and ensure our guests have safe, reliable transportation.

Partner with management and the service advisors to deliver superior service and education to customers on problems and proposed solutions for their fleet vehicles.
Essential Functions:
Diagnose, adjust, and repair light, medium, heavy duty vehicles, including: pick-ups, Class 3-8 trucks, buses, RV's, SUV's, off road vehicles, emergency vehicles, trailers
Communicates with management/service writers to gather or verify information and to advise of expected repair time
Troubleshoots equipment issues to determine most cost effective approach to fix, repair or resolve
Travels to locations of disabled equipment to fix, repair or diagnose problem(s) as needed, performing after hours calls on a rotating basis
Consults with other mechanics as needed to discuss problems or questions with any particular process or procedure
Operates equipment after completing repairs to ensure satisfactory completion/resolution of problem(s)
Maintains current knowledge and skill needed to diagnose, fix or repair heavy equipment and trucks
Maintains neat and professional personal appearance
Follows established company policies and guidelines for safety, quality and customer service; Wears personal protective equipment (PPE) as required or needed
Assists with taking inventory as needed
Completes required paperwork timely and accurately
Maintain hand tools, power tools, and other shop equipment in in good repair
Maintains orderly work area to include wiping up spills, neatly storing tools and parts, properly discarding old or unused parts and materials, sweeping area and emptying trash receptacles as needed
Perform other duties as assigned

Job Responsibilities:
* Performing vehicle repair and/or maintenance work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards to drive Customer loyalty.
* Communicating with Parts Department and Service Advisors regularly to effectively manage production and Customer communication.
* Diagnosing the cause of any malfunction and perform repair.
* Adequately explains technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals which may include employees and customers
