Responsibilities & Tasks: In this role, you will serve as the ambassador for Homestead-Miami Speedway at a variety of public appearances and promotional events throughout South Florida. Our activations include the promo car, a NASCAR retired race car, promotional giveaways, interactive games, ability to data-collect and prospect. Additionally, you will: * Support NASCAR marketing and event experience initiatives, including the 2024 NASCAR Playoffs Cup Series Weekend, NASCAR Racing Experience Media & Influencer Day, Fourth of July Celebration at the track, and Fast Lane Friday events, to name a few. * Engage with customers and prospects on-site at grassroots events to generate leads and close ticket sales to the 2024 NASCAR Playoffs Cup Series Weekend on October 26-27. * Collect valuable data from event attendees, actively gather prospects for future email campaigns, and encourage consumer sign-ups for our mailing list. * Educate the community about Homestead-Miami Speedway, its history, and ticket opportunities. * Maintain expertise in the products and services offered by Homestead-Miami Speedway. * Always ensure we're well-stocked with promotional materials and giveaway items. * Actively participate in public appearances with our promo car and/or retired race car, with a primary responsibility for maintaining the impeccable condition of both vehicles. * Coordinate transportation of the retired race car with the towing team and supervise vehicle loading and unloading to ensure it is always handled with care as well as properly staged at events and activations. * Responsible for assisting in the set up and tear down of the displays. You will need to travel to the office the day prior to collect all grassroots activation. On the day of the event, you will transport these items to the event location using your own car, set up the activation, dismantle it after the event, and then return all grassroots items to Homestead-Miami Speedway post event. * Ideal candidates should be sales-oriented, personable, punctual, hardworking, and eager to learn about the world of NASCAR. Also, they exhibit reliability and dependability, and always adhere to safety regulations and procedures. * Some out-of-town travel may be required. * Other duties as assigned. Daytona International Speedway Tours department seeks a talented individual to join our team as a Part-Time Tour Guide and Driver to conduct guided tours of our Daytona Beach Speedway. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Conduct Daytona International Speedway Tours (Speedway Tour, All Access Tour, and VIP Tour) in a professional and informative manner Ensure safety of guests. Though the prestigious season-opening NASCAR Cup Series event garners most of the attention - as well as the largest audience in motorsports - the approximately 500-acre motorsports complex boasts the most diverse schedule of racing on the globe, thus earning it the title of "World Center of Racing." Among the nine major weekends of racing activity are the Rolex 24 At DAYTONA, the DAYTONA Supercross, the DAYTONA 200 motorcycle classic and the Coke Zero Sugar 400. Rarely a week goes by that the Speedway grounds are not used for events that include track tours, concerts, civic and social gatherings, car shows, photo shoots, production vehicle testing and police motorcycle training. JOB SUMMARY Seasonal role which the primary focus is to assist the Event Logistics Manager with the logistical setup/completion and service during large spectator events and track rentals at the Daytona International Speedway. Liaison between various departments to include DIS Client & Event Experience, NASCAR Sales, Partnership Services and DIS Track Operations teams. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Events: Primary event operations support for events. Assist in development of ideas and implementation for events including but not limited to: IMSA Testing & Rolex 24 (January) NASCAR Speedweeks events (February) March Bike Week Spectator events such as Jeep Beach and Welcome to Rockville Operations: Assist with the management of vendors including but not limited to Tent and Fence vendors, ATM machines, United Site Services and Jumbo TV screens in fan loading areas. Assist with Midway Display layout and set-up for events including scheduling maintenance of and scheduling load-in, vendor parking need, restroom placement, trash barrel placement, set-up of fence, coordinate directional signage and marking of underground utilities. Assist with order, inventory and placement of event specific signage. Coordinate and distribute credentials and parking passes for workers and operational vendors. Sales: Working with the Sales/Marketing Department effectively prospect for new ideas to ensure reaching sales goal and assist the organization in achieving its overall goal. Effectively monitor client's satisfaction with programming and follow up to cover all the details. Other Duties: Be a team player, helping others whenever assistance is needed. Other duties as assigned by DIS Operations. Tools & Equipment: Basic office systems including but not limited to computer system & programs, AUTOCAD, database management system. Attendance Requirements: This is a seasonal role intending for January - May 2024. Hours will vary but will include all hours the office is open, evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary to attend events and to fulfill job responsibilities. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Provides an opportunity for a college student or recent graduate to gain hands on experience in event management in the motorsports industry. Project a positive image to internal (employees) and external (fans, vendor, other sports professional, community members) customers, communicate effectively and professionally at all times.
