SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS * B.S. Engineering degree or equivalent, plus minimum five (5) years experience in the field. * Ability to understand ship specifications, drawings, MIL-STD, CFRs, ABS Rules, etc. * Self-motivated and proactive in identifying and resolving problems. * Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS), and ISO 9001 standard. * Familiarity with root cause analysis and problem solving techniques and tools. * Previous experience managing CAPA processes and auditing. * Strong analytical skills, reporting, and data analysis. * Quality Auditor certification preferred. * Good oral and written communication skills. * Actively participates in implementing and monitoring continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, improve quality, reduce cycle time, and reduce costs. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Work occurs in both an outdoor shipyard environment and in an office setting. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus and distinguish color. Standing, balancing, walking, climbing ladders or equipment, reaching above shoulder or out in front, manual dexterity, pushing, pulling, kneeling, bending, seeing, hearing and occasionally lowering self into confined spaces, crawling through small openings and working in reclined positions, as needed. Working in all areas of the shipyard and on board ships. Hearing warning signals and reading and comprehending safety instructions. Maintaining general safety awareness and avoid hazards commonly present in employee's work area.
