Position Overview
Action Council/Building Healthy Communities is seeking an organized individual passionate about supporting our mission to activate Monterey County resident voice and power to build an inclusive, anti-racist democracy and safe, thriving communities. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Executive Assistant will serve as a vital link between the Executive Director, the organization, and the community.
In this role, the Executive Assistant will manage the Executive Director's calendar and projects, correspondence, and communications, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. Responsibilities include preparing documents and presentations, scheduling and coordinating meetings, maintaining records, and facilitating communication with the Board of Directors and Board Committees. In addition to supporting the Executive Director, the Executive Assistant will collaborate closely with the Support Team, and assist with administrative duties as needed, as backup to the front office. Responsibilities include maintaining communication channels, bilingual media outreach, and supporting key relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders - from residents, partners and donors, to elected officials. This role is ideal for an energetic multitasker with a knack for relationship-building and a commitment to making a difference. This position is on-site at the Salinas office. College degree preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities/Duties:
Manage the Executive Director's schedule, coordinate meetings, and actively help prioritize tasks.
Attend staff meetings, take notes and track outcomes and follow-up actions, and, facilitate some meetings.
Support administrative tasks associated with the Board of Directors, maintaining accurate and organized records for Board and Committee activities.
Prepare presentations, communications, and reports for the Executive Director and Board.
Play a leadership role in developing internal policies and procedures across the organization.
Support the development of bilingual communications, including external communications like press releases and web content.
Schedule and coordinate Board and staff events, activities, and festivities.
Maintain positive relationships with the Executive Director, Board members, staff, and the public.
Act as the first point of contact when the Executive Director is out of the office.
Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment and Position Type

This is a full-time, in-person role based in Monterey County, with typical hours Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening or weekend work is required. Our office is located in downtown Salinas.

Job Summary
The Event Coordinator position is ultimately responsible for providing administrative and event support for the Advocacy and Partnerships team. The initial 6 months of employment will focus 80% on maintaining support for the Sales team as Interim Sales Coordinator, while assisting 20% with the execution of internal events as needed. Essential Interim Sales Coordinator Functions (initial 5-6 months)
As Interim Sales Coordinator, this role will receive strategic guidance from the Director of Sales during the initial period of employment, while directly reporting to the Senior Manager Business Partnerships . The Sales Coordinator is responsible for providing administrative and support services to the CSMO, DOS, and Sales Executives, as well as managing all aspects of the Convention Services Program.

In this position, reports directly to the Sr. Manager, Business Partnerships & Community Engagement. Primary Event Coordination Responsibilities

Under general supervision, Protective Service Workers perform professional investigation, case management, and casework services at the Family & Children's Services program. This includes activities related to: engagement of children, youth and families; assessment of safety and risk; case planning and service delivery; and transitioning children and families to appropriate permanent and stable living situations.
ESSENTIAL TASK AND DUTIES

Qualifications
1. Education
a. Possession of a Master's Degree in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work education (CSWE);
OR
b. Possession of a Master's Degree from a two-year (2) counseling program from an accredited college or university. (Qualifying Master's Degrees in counseling include Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Counseling, Mental Health Counseling, Addiction Counseling and Counseling Psychology that included a supervised field placement as part of the course curriculum).
AND
2. Experience
a. Satisfactory completion of two semesters of graduate field placement, which involved the provision of direct services to families or children in one of the following or closely related areas: child welfare, family counseling, juvenile probation, pediatric social work, adolescent alcohol and drug counseling or school social work;

b. Six (6) months post baccalaureate professional work experience which involved the provision of direct services to families or children in one of the areas previously described.

A passing score must be achieved on the written multiple choice exam in order to continue in the selection process. Candidates who pass the exam will be placed on the eligible list in rank order according to their written examination score.
Score Banking: Scores attained on the Protective Services Worker Exam for Family and Children Services will be 'banked' for two years, starting from the date of the examination. This means that, during this two-year time period, candidates need not take this test again. However, after one year, a candidate has the option to either (a) keep the same score and apply their test score to the other announcement or (b) re-take the test. Re-testing is permitted no sooner than one year from the date of the test. If a candidate opts to re-test, the re-test score becomes the candidate's official score since it is the most recent.
If a significant modification is made to this exam in the future, the application of “banked” scores may no longer be appropriate. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with all City departments, employees at all levels and other law enforcement agencies. They will also demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
Typical duties and responsibilities of a City of Vacaville Public Safety Dispatcher include:
* Receiving and responding to both routine and emergency calls
* Evaluating requests to determine priority level and type of response required

Responsible for the overall management and supervision of a specific unit of the overnight camp program, providing leadership and stability for program continuity. Plan and oversee Unit operations, including the creation and implementation of staff training and scheduling. Develop and evaluate classes and activities to maintain a dynamic and well-received program. Responsible for monitoring and supervising staff in unit, ensuring the safety of all children at camp, leading a group in activities daily, assisting in overall camp operations, participating in planning and implementing quality YMCA programming and serving as a positive role model to both campers and staff.
Pay & Benefits
Weekly Pay: $620.96 - $661.76* This position is exempt from overtime because you will work as a camp counselor or program counselor of an organized camp, and you will be paid a weekly salary equivalent to more than 85% of the minimum wage for a 40-hour week, subject to deduction for the value of lodging you receive and all withholdings and deductions as required by law.

Responsibilities
Plan and implement summer programming for a specific unit of the overnight camping program; ensuring the environment is inclusive, nurturing and welcoming for all staff and participants.
Provide staff support and supervision; including the training, evaluation and professional development of the team in a positive, supportive and motivational way.
Contribute to planning and implementation of the daily program in accordance with YMCA policies, and ACA standards; including leading camp orientations, organize schedules and cabin lists.
Create an age-appropriate environment, which allows for and fosters creativity and individuality in the campers and staff.
Ensure program areas in camp have adequate supplies and are in good safe operating condition.
Demonstrate a strong sense of investment in camp by actively supporting the cleanliness of facilities, care of equipment and supplies, and stewardship of the natural environment.
Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years of age with high school diploma or GED.
Bachelor's degree in education, recreation, related field, or equivalent education and experience preferred.
Minimum (2) years of experience working with youth in Overnight Camp, Day Camp or like setting.
Ability to lead campers in at least 4 of the following areas: recreational games, drama, crafts, outdoor education, songs, sports, aquatics, team building or science.
Staff supervision experience preferred.
Must be able to live on-site during program season.
Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency situation.
Ability to supervise and work with groups of campers ages 7-17, as well as parents and staff of diverse populations.
Ability to adequately observe participants' activities, enforce safety regulations, and apply appropriate policies and procedures.
Physical ability to lead, teach and interact in group activities and perform related physical skills including: standing, hiking and/or climbing for long periods of time.
CPR and First Aid certification required prior to working with participants and must be from one of the following certifying organization:
American Red Cross
American Heart Association
American Safety & Health Institute.
