He joined Sun Life U.S. in 2008 and was instrumental in renewing the strategic direction of the company. Wes has a strong track record of building profitable organizations focused on growth. As President of Sun Life U.S., he championed key initiatives such as expanding the business and positioning it for further success through the sale of the U.S. domestic annuity business and transformation of the group benefits business into a customer-focused operating model. He was also responsible for advancing the company’s brand in the U.S., including securing naming rights for Sun Life Stadium in Miami. After compiling an impressive list of accomplishments, Wes retired from Sun Life in April 2014 to pursue a variety of entrepreneurial and personal interests.In the decade prior to joining Sun Life, Wes held executive leadership roles at Lincoln Financial Group. He created the company’s centralized wholesale distribution organization, before becoming President of Employer Markets (group retirement plans and group benefits) and President of the Retirement Solutions business.
