The Wind Technician Apprentice will work at a wind farm in Bliss, NY (address of the site is: 3700 route 78 Bliss, NY 14024). The typical work hours are Monday - Friday, 6am - 4.30pm. The role also requires working on-call hours and overtime. Any experience with turbines by GE 1.5, Vestas V-80 and/or Siemens 2.3 turbines is a plus. Applicants must live in the area, or be willing to move, and have a valid driver's license. The person holding this position is responsible for safe operation and maintenance of wind turbine power generation equipment. Duties & responsibilities: * Conduct all work activities in a professional, environmentally conscious, and safe manner. * Assure operational efficiency, unit reliability and compliance with safety and environmental standards. Maintain and complete tactical processes in a team oriented, multi-discipline environment. * Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair wind turbine generation equipment. * Carry out troubleshooting and repair activities to ensure that wind turbine generation equipment work at the optimum levels. * Perform general and preventative maintenance on generators, pitch systems, yaw systems, cooling systems, and other wind turbine support systems. * Perform predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance. * Experience in troubleshooting and correcting mechanical issues with gearboxes, pumps and other rotating equipment. * Experience in rotating machinery alignment. * Complete other tasks as requested by the Lead Technician or Facilities Manager. * Varying day shift schedule allow up to 6 days a week of coverage. Will also be required to respond to call outs and work overtime as needed. * Ability to enforce to and follow all safety policies. * Ability to perform inspections of safety equipment, vehicles, personal protective equipment, and plant equipment. * Must be timely and track time accurately. The successful candidate will be a temporarily employed full-time college student in an accredited four-year institution of higher learning. Talen Energy's internship program is designed to give college students practical work experience in their field of study. The program often helps students determine career interests. Beyond the scope of the actual tasks performed, intern students become familiar with a corporate environment and gain practical skills and knowledge to supplement the classroom experience. Reporting to Talen Energy's Environmental Liability Management/Major Projects organization, the selected intern will have the opportunity to work with seasoned professionals as part of existing environmental projects team and focus on emergent work in the energy field, as well as independently work on assigned tasks. The position will involve both field and office work. The primary work location will be Allentown, PA. However, day travel to power plants with the Talen fleet, located in PA/MD/NJ, is a requirement and should be expected. The individual's employment will include, but not be limited to, work on environmental project implementation, groundwater analysis and reporting, environmental and project research, performing field activities under supervision (i.e., civil engineering project oversight and groundwater sampling), reviewing vendor qualifications, and participating in project meetings. Job Summary The Apprentice Start is a bargaining unit position which requires general knowledge and ability to perform basic construction related skills and utility skills such as, but not limited to, use of air and hand tools, equipment operation, pipefitting, meter reading, collections, MRSLIP, shut offs, vehicle safety, safe material handling, afterhours work and exposure to weather. Position Overview: Ameresco is looking for an Intern to join our team in Spring/Summer 2026. The Project Engineering Intern will support the Office of Mental Health's comprehensive Energy Efficiency and Pollution Program (CEEP) based in New York. Responsibilities: Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors for site access and building access for ongoing construction services. Work with site Project Manager on ongoing contact, communication, and coordination with Ameresco customers and subcontractors in the design and construction phases, including project status updates and remedies for delays or other concerns. Manage, coordinate and supervise subcontractors to ensure quality control and that projects installed per design documents, are delivered on time and within budget while meeting or exceeding the customers' expectations. Evaluate technologies and equipment and recommend most suitable for each application. Provide all necessary support, reports, and documentation required by Management for project, including technical and other support to sales, engineering and operating functions as needed Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, and Project Team to prepare and maintain all forms of project presentations, documentation, and related material. Manage Project to assure accurate record keeping for project to include, daily log, schedule updates, customer interface. Review, and manage all expenditures for assigned project including ensuring all invoices approved for payment are within budget established in project report and have appropriate purchase orders, contracts, and supporting documentation. Foster effective customer, subcontractor and vendor relationships at multiple levels and project phases. Attend weekly construction meetings at jobsite. Analyze proposals, prepare spreadsheets, and assist with review meetings; and Perform other duties as required. Minimum Qualifications: Working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, facility management or energy management fields. Additional Qualifications: Exposure to large scale construction projects involving upgrades, renovations, and retro-fits involving institutional, government, commercial and industrial customer sites. Proven ability to gather, validate, and analyze quantitative data and information Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite, including Excel and Project. Excellent verbal, written, computer, technical communication and presentation skills required. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and business relationships. Valid Drivers' License issued by state of residence and in good standing.
