Earlier in her career, she served on the executive team of the Central European University, founded by George Soros, in Budapest, Hungary. She received a BA from Bucknell University and holds MAs in Russian and East European studies and in Central European history from Georgetown University. She resides in Washington, DC with her husband and son.
