SUMMARY OF POSITION: The National Institute for Fitness and Sport (NIFS) is looking for a full-time Health Fitness Specialist. NIFS is a full-service fitness center with a strong emphasis on member retention. Our Health Fitness Specialists use specialized educational experience and training combined with independent judgment in all areas of the Fitness Center, including, but not limited to, exercise program design, fitness testing, customer service, group exercise, and other Fitness Center initiatives. Wage contingent on education, experience, and certifications. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's or Master's degree in a health-related field such as exercise science, kinesiology, physical education, sports medicine, or health education, from an accredited college or university preferred. Ability to conduct fitness assessments and develop exercise programs using American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) guidelines. The Assistant Director oversees staffing of the Fitness Center and serves as the liaison between Managers and the Fitness Center Director. Primary responsibilities include oversight of daily operations, customer service standards, membership software management as well as outcome reporting on member engagement and campaigns. The ideal candidate will have leadership experience with a strong focus on maintaining exceptional customer experiences for our diverse membership base. The Assistant Director reports to the Fitness Center Director. Essential Duties Supervises full-time Managers in the areas of Service Desk, Membership Services and Fitness Center. Maintains regular communication with Managers to help guide them on customer service, membership campaigns, program development and service delivery.
