    The Senior Clinical Project Manager drives all aspects of clinical trial design and execution. This role oversees design, start-up, execution and close-out of one or more multi-center clinical research studies, ensuring that studies are run in accordance with regulations and internal SOPs. The Senior Clinical Project Manager may directly manage one or more multi-center clinical research studies and/or provide mentoring, training or peer oversight to Clinical Project Managers. ACCOUNTABILITIES: Coordinates, manages and performs activities related to clinical research projects: • Manages study timeline, budget and deliverables • Works cross-functionally to ensure all aspects of clinical studies are executed in accordance with ICH/GCP, regulations and SOPs • May oversee new study budget creation and tracking of ongoing finances • Uses operational and therapeutic expertise to optimize trial design. Internship Program Details Learning Objectives Clinical medicine skills in a community medicine practice emphasizing relationship-centered client communication skills and medical case management high-quality care in a resource-limited environment Surgical training to develop high-quality/high-volume spay-neuter, general surgery and dentistry skills with direct supervision from practitioners experienced in mentoring Develop skills as a clinical instructor working alongside the University of Minnesota Community Medicine teach staff to mentor senior veterinary students who rotate through the AHS Pet Clinic for their community medicine rotation 40 hours/week with emphasis on work-life balance Clinic facilities have 2:1 technician: DVM ratio, in-house laboratory equipment, ultrasound, digital radiographs, dental and surgical equipment AHS Pet Clinics are full-service general practice clinics with preventative care and sick/medical case appointments Clinic Veterinary Interns will be mentored by the Managing Clinic Veterinarian and the team of AHS Pet Clinic staff DVMs who are experienced mentors working in a teaching clinic, along with adjunct mentorship from the University of Minnesota Community Medicine faculty Performance assessment will be based on goals set collaboratively by Intern and Managing Clinic Veterinarian for overall professional development, client communication skills, understanding of community medicine practice in a non-profit setting, and medical case management and surgical skill development that shows improvement in speed, accuracy, and confidence over time Essential Functions Learning: Learn and acquire skills under the guidance of experienced professionals. Actively participate in didactic learning (rounds, journal club, presenting to DVM and Veterinary student teams), clinical activities and on-the-job training. Ask questions; Develop, practice, and demonstrate new skills. Develop clinical instruction skills and enhance personal learning by serving as a mentor to senior veterinary students alongside their instructor. Clinical Training: Conduct comprehensive physical examinations, vaccinations and routine medical procedures on customer animals, adhering to AHS protocols and policies. Perform High Quality, High Volume Spay-Neuter (HQHVSN), general surgeries, and dental procedures. Collaborate with customers to develop accessible plans to diagnose and treat medical conditions, preventative care and provide recommendations for follow up care. Communication and Culture: Communicate in a positive and professional manner with customers, other employees and volunteers. Understand and interpret animal body language. Educate customers on available preventive care and treatment options using non-judgmental communication and a spectrum of care approach. Collaborate with veterinary team to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care of customer animals. Actively participate in team meetings. Collaborate with other departments and assist as needed. Record Keeping: Update and maintain animal records in E-Vet, meeting all requirements of the Practice Act when treating customer animals. Clock in and out of shifts using ADP, if applicable. Monitor AHS email and other messaging software. Other duties as assigned. Additional Information: Schedule and Attendance: Regular, predictable attendance, punctuality, and availability to work during operational hours. May be required to work at a different site or in shelter based on department needs. May be required to attend occasional off site all staff meetings and events. Attend and participate in regular team meetings and 1:1 meetings with direct leader. Work Environment: Environment can be dirty, wet, warm, and humid. Exposure to pests such as fleas and ticks.
