As a Business Support Professional supporting the Strategic Partnership Office for the Innovation, Partnering and Outreach (IPO) Directorate, you'll coordinate strategic events, facilitate partner engagement, and ensure our leadership and guests have a seamless experience. NLR is seeking an experienced Business Support Professional to provide complex, high-level administrative support to the team. In this role you will have the opportunity to work closely with our Strategic Partnership team members, supporting them as they develop new projects with partners that will accelerate the transfer of technologies to market. Leaders in the energy ecosystem come from all over the country, and the world, to work with NLR on some of their most challenging problems. As the Business Support/ Administrative Associate you will interface with these leaders and help them to connect with NLR's leading researchers in areas such as power electronics, electric grid and security technologies, critical materials and industrial manufacturing, and integrated energy systems. Meetings and events at NLR are key part of developing and maintaining these partnerships. On a weekly basis, the Business Support Professional will be responsible for planning and supporting senior-level meetings (both internal and external to NLR) including tours of NLR's South Table Mountain campus in Golden and Flatirons Campus south of Boulder. These events often include senior level internal executives as well as senior executives at our partners. Meetings require coordination with partner and internal NLR staff to develop agendas, coordinate speakers, plan transportation, register visitors, arrange audiovisual support and catering. The successful Business Support/Administrative Associate candidate will be adept at handling sensitive and proprietary information, interacting with senior executives and their support staff, and coordinating complex and fluid calendar scheduling all while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism. Additionally, the Business Support/Administrative Associate will serve as the principal administrative point of contact for prospective business partnering opportunities. To successfully accomplish their job duties, the Business Support Professional will: + Manage a portfolio of events at various stages of planning from initial scope discussions to detailed agenda planning, to scheduling of researchers, conference rooms, tours, shuttles etc,. to day-of event support which includes greeting visitors, setting up conference rooms with refreshments, escorting visitors, and providing basic A/V support. + Interface effectively across NLR with other administrative assistants, group managers, broader NLR management and staff, Department of Energy management and staff, industry contacts and other key individuals and organizations. + Prepare domestic and foreign travel arrangements and process all related paperwork including authorizations and reimbursements using NLR's Concur travel management system. + Provide basic financial tracking of team budgets and expenses. + Prepare and maintain electronic files and presentations, keeping information up to date. + Track international partnership activities and approvals across the Laboratory. + Utilize Salesforce to run reports and input data, and other administrative support for the corporate business development team within the IPO directorate. + Follow, understand, and adhere to all Laboratory policies and procedures to ensure and maintain a safe working environment, follow all NLR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with DOE orders and NLR requirements, gather and process information from various sources, including NLR departments and published documents and use it to carry out specialized assignments, as appropriate. NREL's ACO Group manages a world class energy efficient data center, high performance computing (HPC), private cloud and public cloud systems to meet the mission requirements of EERE and NREL. ACO facilitates cutting edge computational innovations and testbeds to find tomorrow's solutions today. Collaboration is at the heart of our work - our staff partner with scientists across NREL to deeply understand their computational challenges, to develop or co-develop tailored solutions, and leveraging our hybrid compute offerings, to provide the technical expertise needed to push boundaries in renewable energy and sustainability. As the advanced computing research operations manager the successful candidate will manage operations, project planning and execution to implement the group's strategic plan. Reporting to the ACO group manager, this leader will partner together driving excellence in organizational management, ensure production services are highly available and usable and develop additional capabilities that align with the centers and NREL's vision, strategy, and mission. The candidate will translate strategic plans into actionable execution, deliver value over time, and maintain an active role in technical contributions. The research operations manager in ACO will require a combination of technical, managerial, and interpersonal skills. Technical: the manager will need to have a deep understanding of operations for research computing, technical project management; a familiarity with both on-prem and cloud-based computing resources. Advising on the best approach to balance cost, performance and agility in meeting the needs of researchers with combinations of computing resource, staffing capacity and IT infrastructure. Leadership: the candidate must possess the ability to implement the group's goals and align them with broader institutional objectives. They must be proficient in managing complex, multidisciplinary projects, managing vendor relationships, ensuring timely delivery, and operational metrics. The manager must also have experience in optimizing team resources and foster a culture of innovation, and collaboration across multi-disciplinary technical teams. Interpersonal and communication skills: Enable collaboration and stakeholder engagement, technical communication, conflict resolution, and mentorship and talent development.
