Ameresco's Operations & Maintenance Group has a new opportunity for an Electrician in the Somerset County area of Maine experienced with inspecting, troubleshooting and maintaining commercial or utility solar facilities.
Responsibilities
Recognizes safety hazards and follows safety guidelines for personal protection, protection of fellow workers and the protection of the public.
Reads and interprets instruction manuals, blueprints and control system drawings; applies knowledge to daily tasks under the supervision of the Lead Electrician.
Completes written and electronic records (i.e. work orders, calibration sheets, time cards, material requests) required to document the work in progress and as it is completed.
Repair, test, troubleshoot, inspect; and install, remove and maintain solar site equipment such as solar panels, inverters, transformers, breakers, switchgear, and SCADA equipment.
Supervise and train apprentice electricians/coworkers to teach proper, safe use of tools and maintenance procedures.
Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent experience in lieu of diploma.
Minimum of 2 years of industrial electric/electronic maintenance experience in the repair, inspection, testing, installation and/or maintenance of related electrical/electronic equipment.
Current Maine Journeyman's Electrician License.
Valid Drivers' License in good standing, issued by state of residence.
Additional Qualifications:
Knowledge of electricity, voltage and current relationships for both AC and DC circuits.
Knowledge of Solar PV a plus.
Ability to successfully complete position training and testing requirements.
Ability to push, pull, bend, stand, stoop, lift, carry, reach, climb, hear, see, and work on ladders for extended periods of time with hands and arms at heights to install and troubleshoot equipment.
OSHA training and certification preferred.
Travel and flexibility for ‘on call' support or varied schedule needs.

Position Summary:
The Electrical Foreman oversees and coordinates job site operations, including field crews, apprentices, and laborers. They manage work schedules, materials, and equipment to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to company standards, plans, and codes.
Position Responsibilities:
Oversee and lead field teams, ensuring high-quality work aligned with company standards.
Coordinate project schedules, ensuring work sequences are maintained to meet deadlines.
Organize and manage project materials, equipment, and resources effectively.
Schedule/oversee job site inspections to ensure compliance with all policies and procedures.
Collaborate with subcontractors, vendors, and other trades to ensure smooth transitions and integration of work.
Participate in weekly job site meetings, providing status updates and addressing concerns.
Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions in systems, components, and equipment using testing devices and hand tools.
Perform system tests to ensure proper installation and operational effectiveness.
Read and interpret contract drawings, plans, and specifications to determine material requirements and installation procedures.

Maintain knowledge of the national code and state-specific codes/amendments and understand how they are applied in projects in the surrounding areas.

Identify and create RFIs (Request for Information) to clarify design or project specifications.
Ensure proper communication via email for project-related correspondence, including RFIs, change orders, and status updates.
Review project estimates for material and labor costs in collaboration with the Project Manager to stay within budget.
Maintain effective communication with leadership and workers to ensure smooth operations and resolve issues quickly.
Coordinate with vendors for timely delivery of materials and equipment needed for tasks.

Qualifications:
Required: High school diploma or GED.
Required: 4+ years of trade specific (Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing) construction experience.
Preferred: Prior experience in a supervisory role.
Preferred: Ability to read and comprehend written (English) materials.
Preferred: Professional Certifications or Licenses.
Preferred: Previous construction experience, use of hand tools, and mechanical aptitude.
Physical Demands:

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.

Standard Work Schedule:

Position Summary:
The Electrical Foreman oversees and coordinates job site operations, including field crews, apprentices, and laborers. They manage work schedules, materials, and equipment to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to company standards, plans, and codes.
Position Responsibilities:
Oversee and lead field teams, ensuring high-quality work aligned with company standards.
Coordinate project schedules, ensuring work sequences are maintained to meet deadlines.
Organize and manage project materials, equipment, and resources effectively.
Schedule/oversee job site inspections to ensure compliance with all policies and procedures.
Collaborate with subcontractors, vendors, and other trades to ensure smooth transitions and integration of work.
Participate in weekly job site meetings, providing status updates and addressing concerns.
Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions in systems, components, and equipment using testing devices and hand tools.
Perform system tests to ensure proper installation and operational effectiveness.
Read and interpret contract drawings, plans, and specifications to determine material requirements and installation procedures.
Mentor team members, fostering growth in technical skills and adherence to all policies.
Maintain knowledge of the national code and state-specific codes/amendments and understand how they are applied in projects in the surrounding areas.
Ensure workers understand and apply the latest codes, including the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant regulations.
Identify and create RFIs (Request for Information) to clarify design or project specifications.
Ensure proper communication via email for project-related correspondence, including RFIs, change orders, and status updates.
Review project estimates for material and labor costs in collaboration with the Project Manager to stay within budget.
Maintain effective communication with leadership and workers to ensure smooth operations and resolve issues quickly.
Coordinate with vendors for timely delivery of materials and equipment needed for tasks.

Qualifications:
Required: High school diploma or GED.
Required: 4+ years of trade specific ( Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing) construction experience.
Preferred: Prior experience in a supervisory role.
Preferred: Ability to read and comprehend written (English) materials.
Preferred: Professional Certifications or Licenses.
Preferred: Previous construction experience, use of hand tools, and mechanical aptitude.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to adhere to standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting and lifting.
Must be able to pick up, lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE.
Work in hazardous or sensitive environments, confined spaces, and adverse conditions.

Position Summary:
The Foreman oversees and coordinates job site operations, including field crews, apprentices, and laborers. They manage work schedules, materials, and equipment to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to company standards, plans, and codes.
Position Responsibilities:
Oversee and lead field teams, ensuring high-quality work aligned with company standards.
Coordinate project schedules, ensuring work sequences are maintained to meet deadlines.
Organize and manage project materials, equipment, and resources effectively.
Schedule/oversee job site inspections to ensure compliance with all policies and procedures.
Collaborate with subcontractors, vendors, and other trades to ensure smooth transitions and integration of work.
Participate in weekly job site meetings, providing status updates and addressing concerns.
Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions in systems, components, and equipment using testing devices and hand tools.
Perform system tests to ensure proper installation and operational effectiveness.
Read and interpret contract drawings, plans, and specifications to determine material requirements and installation procedures.
Mentor team members, fostering growth in technical skills and adherence to all policies.
Maintain knowledge of the national code and state-specific codes/amendments and understand how they are applied in projects in the surrounding areas.
Ensure workers understand and apply the latest codes, including the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant regulations.
Identify and create RFIs (Request for Information) to clarify design or project specifications.
Ensure proper communication via email for project-related correspondence, including RFIs, change orders, and status updates.
Review project estimates for material and labor costs in collaboration with the Project Manager to stay within budget.
Maintain effective communication with leadership and workers to ensure smooth operations and resolve issues quickly.
Coordinate with vendors for timely delivery of materials and equipment needed for tasks.

Qualifications:
Required: High school diploma or GED.
Required: 4+ years of Electrical construction experience.
Preferred: Prior experience in a supervisory role.
Preferred: Ability to read and comprehend written (English) materials.
Preferred: Professional Certifications or Licenses.
Preferred: Previous construction experience, use of hand tools, and mechanical aptitude.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to adhere to standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting and lifting.
Must be able to pick up, lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE.
Work in hazardous or sensitive environments, confined spaces, and adverse conditions.

Schedule: M-F; On-call rotation one weekend per month. Hours: 2nd shift (4pm-12:30am or 2pm-10:30pm) Key Responsibilities/Essential Job Functions
Performs electrical/controls equipment inspections and identifies needed work.
Performs electrical/controls preventive maintenance. Breaker servicing, infrared inspections, time/condition-based replacements, and calibrations to plant instruments and calibration tools.
Performs electrical/controls corrective maintenance. Performs electrical troubleshooting and repair on motors and starters, control circuitry, transformers, and all associated wiring to locate and repair electrical malfunctions by utilizing proper troubleshooting techniques using multi meter, ammeter, schematics, hand tools, etc.
Installs electrical service and control equipment to provide electrical service to new process equipment, both 440-volt 3-phase and 110/220-volt 1-phase by installing the necessary equipment as per the National Electrical Code Book regulations using conduit bender, pipe threader, wire snake, hand tools, anchors and/or supports.
Uses the CMMS daily to provide documentation and feedback of work completed.
Works outdoors in a plant environment with exposure to noise and dust.
Enters confined spaces as required and in accordance with safety policies and procedures.
Climbs stairs and scaffolding.
Wears personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed and in accordance with safety policies and procedures.
Works 8-hour shifts and overtime, as customer and business needs require
Performs other job-related duties assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Journeyman or certification in Industrial Electricity or closely related discipline is required. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
Minimum of 3 years of electrician experience in the industrial electrical field is required.
High school diploma/GED is required.
Proficient in troubleshooting and repair of single and 3-phase equipment.
Proficient in National Electrical Code and NFPA codes.
Proficient in interpreting wiring diagrams and schematics.
Proficient in troubleshooting control circuits.
Able to perform technical work that revolves around programmable logic controllers (PLC's), motor control and power distribution.
Must be fluent in English with the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and handling instructions, and procedure manuals.
Must be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Valid driver's license and safe driving record are required.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work 8-hour shifts and overtime.
Must be able to demonstrate successful work history in which standing for prolonged periods, bending, stooping and lifting were an integral part of the job, preferably in a production or process-oriented industry.
